mets67 Posted June 9, 2013 at 02:45 PM Report Share Posted June 9, 2013 at 02:45 PM In the past few days, when I have finished a phone call, the MyFord Touch apparently does not want the call to end and freezes everything. I've tried restarting the phone itself so that it would disconnect and it doesn't work. So unless I pull over, shut the car off and start all over again I cannot get the radio back on or any other feature (and even when I did this a few times it still didn't work). The screen also disappears eventually and after about 5-10 minutes Sync appears and that's about it. It's a crapshoot whether or not I get everything back. WTF? On a $43K car, why is this happening and is there anything I can do to fix this? Thanks -
jeff_h Posted June 9, 2013 at 05:50 PM Report Share Posted June 9, 2013 at 05:50 PM I've had "screen freeze" once that I can recall, don't remember if a phone call was involved, just remember that the MFT screen froze and I couldn't navigate to anything. In that case, I clicked the voice button on the steering wheel and went from Sirius to FM, which changed the input and the screen started working again. I'm not much of a MFT fan. meyersnole Posted June 10, 2013 at 11:37 PM Report Share Posted June 10, 2013 at 11:37 PM do you by chance have a large number of songs on a usb device or on your phone that MFT has tried to index? I recently did a master reset to clear out the previous indexes because the system was running so slow. I think Ford/Microsoft have a lot of work do on this platform. If they wanted to be lazy in their programming then they should have put more RAM in the hardware. One area I a really disappointed is the Navigation system. How is it that my Nav in my 2006 TL (built off of 2004/5 technology) was so much more intuitive and easier to use then this system? Hopefully they will continue to improve this platform.
