Energi Titanium

I never did update this topic.  Sorry about that my friends.

Thanks to everyone's suggestions, recommendations and comments I purchased my Energi Titanium on 6/29 from a dealer in San Diego; about 5 1/2 hours south of me.  From this forum I knew as much, if not more, about the Energi as my "electric vehicle" salesman did.  He was actually impressed with my knowledge about the car.  I did not use X-pricing but I had negotiated my price on line, all the discounts and rebates and even my trade were calculated into my price.  I asked for their bottom line price including all fees and taxes.  The Ford rebate at the time was $2500 and I was expecting $1500 so I was even happier.

I purchased a 2013 Ginger Ale Energi Titanium with every option including a cargo net which I am unable to install because the upper hooks are not included.  My salesman is still in contact with Ford and said the cargo net is only offered on the gas versions of the Fusion.  I mentioned the Fusion Hybrid forum and many of those folks said their Fusion Hybrid came with the cargo net as well but they faced the same issue.  The bottom cargo net hooks are included but the top cargo nets are not.  It is not a big deal for me but since it was on the window sticker my salesman is puzzled.  He is still working on a solution for me - including going my my local dealer and selecting an accessory from their catalog or checking if he can get me the aluminum gas and brake pedals!

I am extremely happy with my Energi!!

Hi Eric4539,

My car did not come form the factory with the cargo net, but the salesman gave me one from another car (for free). I also realize that the hooks were not included. I didn't want to bother the sales person for the hooks so I bought them from a dealer close to me. They only sell them in a pack of for, and I ended up paying less than $10 including tax for the pack of 4. Part number W716357-S900

Thanks apm; my salesman has been in touch with me and said he will resolve this for me, but he isn't sure how just yet.  I just want to see how important receiving all 10's on their Ford survey really is!   ;)

I researched on line and I can buy the package of 4 hooks for $1.25 but shipping was $12!!!!  A member of the Fusion Hybrid forum said his dealer took the hooks from a Fusion gas engine car that was in the showroom and said they would just order new hooks for that car.  It just seems really odd that a lot of Fusion Hybrid and Energi owners have the cargo net included on their window stickers (like mine was) yet Ford says it is only available with the gas engine vehicles.

Last night I checked the website for my local Ford dealer, and they now have 4 Energi's in their inventory; 2 SE and 2 Titanium's.  The SE's both list the cargo net on their list of options but the Titanium's do not.  I am going to the dealer today to inquire about the cargo net hooks.  I'll let you know what they say.

Hi Eric4539,

I also looked online thinking it would be cheaper, but the shipping invariable was around $10. Also they give you the price for one unit, but they don't sell just one, they only sell the pack of 4. When you add the item to the cart, they multiply the price by 4.

I just ordered from the dealer closets to me... It took about a week for the hooks to arrive.

I agree with you that if my car had had the net from the factory, I would have made the dealer get the hooks for me, but since the salesperson knew I wanted it, he just took it from another car. I had placed an order for an Energi from this dealer (including the cargo net),  but I got tired of waiting and got one from stock, similarly equipped minus the cargo net.

APM

  • 2 weeks later...

I bought my 2013 Energi Titanium 10 weeks ago. Actually I leased it. It's my first hybrid, and it replaced a loaded 2006 Honda V6 Accord EX sedan. The Accord was absolutely trouble-free but I wanted something that had more up-to-date technology. After 2500 miles behind the wheel I must say that I love the Energi. It rides better than my Accord and easily gets double its gas mileage. There is something space-age-like about the sound the electric motor makes when you take off in EV (battery) mode. The thrill is back!  I don't need neck-snapping acceleration.
