Glad I found this forum !  I just picked the car up a few weeks ago, bought it from AutoNation Buick GMC in Colorado. Over 1000 miles away so I had to have it shipped !  I looked for close to a year to find just the right one (beautiful red!), but we love it and it arrived just in time before the price of gas went through the roof ! So I struggled to get the FordPass app to work and finally, finally figured out the 3G modem was the problem. So I'm just following the information here to see what the best and cheapest course of action is to get the 4G modem kit installed. The local Ford dealer is supposed to get back to me with a price next week. I also talked to the local Lincoln dealership who said they could do it but they never got back with me with a price. I've owned many Ford and Mercury cars in the past, '40 Ford Coupe, '67 & '68 Mustang, '77 Capri II (which I still have), '83 V8 T-Bird, '78 Ranchero GT, 95 Taurus SHO, my '89 Mustang GT which I still daily drive with over 300K miles on it, and a 2005 Mercury Sable 3.0 DOHC that we still have.  Glad to be here !

Welcome... have you checked to see if your vehicle is covered under the Customer Satisfaction Program in which case the labor would be free?

It is covered and I have an appointment this week to get it installed. The local Lincoln dealer (former Mercury & Lincoln) has it on order. I suspect the modem will cost about $350 with tax & all.

While the car is there, have the dealership check that all software updates for the entire car have been applied along with testing the 12V battery - the 2017's had a bad batch of 12V batteries along with some software issues that causes a vampire drain that kills the 12V battery. After being stranded one time, finally got the dealership to replace the 12V battery and triple check that all modules had their latest software.
