muzicman61 Posted February 28, 2022 at 07:06 PM Report Share Posted February 28, 2022 at 07:06 PM I'm consider trading in my 2017 FFE. My dealership has two vehicles I'm considering. As far as I can tell, feature wise they are both identical. First is a 2019 FFE with Nav, with 1544 miles and they are asking $31,995 Second is a 2020 FFE with Nav, with 10,917 miles and they are asking $32,895 Not sure what changes there was between a 19 and 20. If both cars have the same exact feature, which would you go for? Of course, bottom line is what will they give me for my 2017.
dgboyer Posted March 1, 2022 at 06:44 PM Report Share Posted March 1, 2022 at 06:44 PM I believe that very little to nothing was changed from 19 to 20 as most of the changes were done for the 2019 model year. They both have the updated styling and larger HV batter compared to the 17 and 18 models. I am a little thrown off by the prices unless I got mine for an incredible deal. I paid Carvana $28,000 for a 2019 Fusion Energi Titanium with 5,200 miles on it back in the middle of December. muzicman61
muzicman61 Posted March 1, 2022 at 07:09 PM Author Report Share Posted March 1, 2022 at 07:09 PM Thanks @dgboyer That dealership tends to advertise them a bit high priced. I have no intention of paying that price. I've bought 3 cars from them so they usually treat me pretty decent. But the magic question... would you go for the new vehicle with higher mileage and a slightly higher cost... or the older vehicle with less miles and a little lower price??? theterminator93 Posted March 1, 2022 at 10:18 PM Report Share Posted March 1, 2022 at 10:18 PM The way I see it, it comes down to what do you find more valuable? A car with less available bumper-bumper warranty time but more miles and less battery wear, or one with a longer bumper-bumper warranty but an extra year's worth of wear and tear? If it was me, I'd lean towards the '19.
dgboyer Posted March 1, 2022 at 10:20 PM Report Share Posted March 1, 2022 at 10:20 PM That is a tough question, especially when both cars have so few miles. I think that I would take the 19 with only 1,500 miles but at the same time the 20 will have more months of the warranty left. The 19 will likely hit the 36 month mark soon. My 19 only has 8 months of the basic warranty left.
muzicman61 Posted March 2, 2022 at 07:03 PM Author Report Share Posted March 2, 2022 at 07:03 PM I'm leaning towards the 2020, mostly because my wife has a 2020 Edge. ? Just not sure if I like the Russet interior. I'm used to the Ebony in my 17 FFE. My dealership offers and extended warranty at a fairly decent price that covers the car, bumper to bumper, up to 100,000 miles and has no time limit. It's unlikely since I work from home and drive very little (and am 60 years old) that I would ever reach 100,000 on either vehicle. It's entirely possible it will be the last car I ever purchase. Does anyone know if the 2019 or 2020 have 3G or 4G modems?
theterminator93 Posted March 2, 2022 at 09:33 PM Report Share Posted March 2, 2022 at 09:33 PM Not based on what I've seen here so far. ?
dgboyer Posted March 8, 2022 at 01:49 AM Report Share Posted March 8, 2022 at 01:49 AM I am almost 100% certain that every Energi model was built with a 3G modem. I am getting my 4G upgrade installed in my 19 tomorrow. muzicman61
