jeff_h Posted May 10, 2013 at 01:01 AM Report Share Posted May 10, 2013 at 01:01 AM For those that need touch-up paint since those little chips and dings appear like magic... below is a link that I have in my browser bookmarks and a handy reference for your paint code or Ford part number... link below defaults to 2013 Ford Fusion but there are links to other years, makes, models, etc. http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?model=Fusion&year=2013&rows=50 meyersnole and FusionEnergi
Kybuck Posted December 28, 2013 at 02:21 AM Report Share Posted December 28, 2013 at 02:21 AM For reference, a small 3 oz tube of touch-up paint from the Ford dealer carries a MSRP of $10 (at least for certain colors - the premium ones may cost slightly more). It has a brush, but also is a paint pen. This is pretty comparable to (if not better than) trying to find a "close match" at an auto parts store. My local dealer didn't have my color in stock, but ordered it and it actually arrived later that afternoon from the warehouse.
jeff_h Posted December 28, 2013 at 01:09 PM Author Report Share Posted December 28, 2013 at 01:09 PM And another tip I saw posted on the hybrid forum a while back - if you get a rock chip in the paint that is really small and the included touch-up brush would be too big so you just want something to dab the small chip -- try using the end of a wooden toothpick to use only in that affected spot.
