murphy Posted May 2, 2013 at 12:20 AM Report Share Posted May 2, 2013 at 12:20 AM On page 90 of the Owner's Manual under Trip 1 & 2 it says: Note: Pressing OK stops/starts the timer.Holding OK resets the odometer and timer. The reset function works as described. The start/stop timer function does not work. As soon as the OK button is pressed a progress bar for the reset function begins. I can't find any way to stop the timer from running other than turning the car off. Has anyone had a different result? :headscratch:
CombsAuthor Posted May 2, 2013 at 03:29 AM Report Share Posted May 2, 2013 at 03:29 AM Hi Murphy - I couldn't get it to work either. Here is the quote from my manual: "Trip Timer— timer stops when the vehicle is turned off and restarts when the vehicle is restarted." CombsAuthor Posted May 2, 2013 at 01:30 PM Report Share Posted May 2, 2013 at 01:30 PM Unfortunately the timer runs when the vehicle is in accessory mode (green LED on the start button blinking) while sitting in the driveway and not capable of going anywhere.I noticed that as well. It took a few days and I realized that I could run Sync/MrFord Touch by just using the power button on the unit rather than turning on the ignition. howardbc Posted June 19, 2013 at 10:23 PM Report Share Posted June 19, 2013 at 10:23 PM Yesterday I was right in the middle of composing a rather lengthy post on this subject when the website crashed! Does that happen often? Anyhow, I finally found the screens that show Trip 1 and Trip 2 but haven't been able to figure out how to reset the trip mileage to zero? Also, how does one go back to my preferred screen that shows the outline of the battery and Lifetime Summary, etc? Does anyone have any simple easy-to-understand instructions for this screen-challenged owner? Thanks so much.
murphy Posted June 20, 2013 at 12:47 AM Author Report Share Posted June 20, 2013 at 12:47 AM If you are going to create a long post (on any forum) do it in a text editor and then paste it into the forum when it is complete. When on the Trip 1 screen push and hold the left OK button until the progress bar completes to reset the mileage. The timer will also reset but it will continue to run as long as the ignition is on. From the Timer screen push the left arrow, then the up arrow to get to Display, then the right arrow. From that point the up or down arrows will take you through all of the possible screens. howardbc Posted June 21, 2013 at 12:51 AM Report Share Posted June 21, 2013 at 12:51 AM Thanks, murphy! I haven't tried working on the trip screens yet but printed up your instructions and will give it a try when I get around to it. Also good advice about composing a long post somewhere else first and then copying/pasting it into the forum.
