newbeetle18t Posted April 29, 2013 at 08:58 PM Report Share Posted April 29, 2013 at 08:58 PM When scrolling through the Remote Start options one of them is called Quiet Start. It is turned off by default. Does anyone know what this option does when enabled? Btw this is my 1st ford, have they always printed owners manuals on comic book paper? CombsAuthor Posted April 29, 2013 at 09:42 PM Report Share Posted April 29, 2013 at 09:42 PM Hi NewBeetle - The Quiet Start option will cause the blower to run at lower speeds when it is started remotely. Also, if it fails to start with the remote key fob, then the horn won't honk. I enabled it, and it truly is real quiet when it starts up even when you are standing right next to it. I've downloaded the owner's manual and refer to the PDF when I need to look something up, (or can't sleep at night)...but I've heard about the real thin paper that they used. They would have been better off printing two books on heavier paper, one for the car, and the other for the technology.
Scooter80 Posted April 29, 2013 at 09:43 PM Report Share Posted April 29, 2013 at 09:43 PM Quiet start keeps lower fan/blower speed to reduce exterior noise.
mmmhmmmm Posted December 3, 2013 at 01:47 AM Report Share Posted December 3, 2013 at 01:47 AM Thanks! I was just going to post about Quiet Start. I wonder if this setting has an impact on fan speed during Go Times.
BadRock Posted December 4, 2013 at 05:22 AM Report Share Posted December 4, 2013 at 05:22 AM I have a remote start issue that I can't solve. When I go Vehicle--> Remote Start ---> Climate Control all of the offerings are grayed out and you can not select them. The system is enabled and set to a 10 minute duration. Any ideas? murphy Posted December 4, 2013 at 10:34 AM Report Share Posted December 4, 2013 at 10:34 AM Are you using a restricted MyKey instead of a Master key?
BadRock Posted December 5, 2013 at 05:40 PM Report Share Posted December 5, 2013 at 05:40 PM I have not tried the other key but I am not using MyKey in any capacity.
BadRock Posted December 23, 2013 at 06:47 PM Report Share Posted December 23, 2013 at 06:47 PM So I've tried both keys and still no luck. Starting a new thread for ease of use.
