Ffe Posted November 13, 2021 at 01:47 PM Report Share Posted November 13, 2021 at 01:47 PM Both go times and remote start can be used to pre heat and cool the vehicle, right? How do they differ? I would like to warm my vehicle using wall power ONLY. I can't seem to get go times to work. Nothing happens in the car when the scheduled time does around
theterminator93 Posted November 13, 2021 at 02:19 PM Report Share Posted November 13, 2021 at 02:19 PM Go times use electric power from the wall to precondition the car. If the car is kept in a relatively conditioned garage (e.g. attached vs. standalone) it should have no problem reaching your desired temperature on 120V (IME). If it's outside or kept in a detached garage you will likely need 240V for the car to reach the set cabin temperature, especially with heat when it's well below freezing. Remote start will turn the car on and, IIRC, reuse whatever previous HVAC settings were set using onboard energy (gas/battery). The engine can start if you remote start the car, even if the EVSE is connected. Don't use remote start with the car in a closed garage. Check your go times in MFM and in the car. Do they sync up when you make changes in one or the other?
