Eric Wieczorek Posted April 22, 2021 at 05:50 AM Report Share Posted April 22, 2021 at 05:50 AM Hell from Victoria, Canada I currently have a 2015 Energi with 48 K km. I have had it for about 3.5 years with few problems and like to drive it. Local dealer has a 2019 with 13 K km. Looks like a nice car. I know the battery has a bit more capacity and the 2019 has a sun roof which I like. I understand the entertainment system has also been upgraded. Waiting for a price from the dealer but I expect the difference to be about $8,000 or so. (Canadian pesos) Any suggestions re upgrading? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time. muzicman61 Posted April 22, 2021 at 03:03 PM Report Share Posted April 22, 2021 at 03:03 PM If it's a Titanium or a Platinum I'd probably go for it. I love my 2017 Titanium!!! jj2me
Paul Creed III Posted April 22, 2021 at 03:54 PM Report Share Posted April 22, 2021 at 03:54 PM The extra range is nice on my 2019. Only downside I found is that the rear door handles do not have the keyless entry so, if one is opening the rear doors first, one must use the fob to unlock them rather than just pulling the handle with the fob nearby as the front doors work. Not a big deal. Otherwise, very similar to the 2017 I had.
Eric Wieczorek Posted April 22, 2021 at 04:07 PM Author Report Share Posted April 22, 2021 at 04:07 PM Hi Paul Thanks for the info. The reports I read say the larger battery pack in in 2019 gives a 25/26 mile range. (Vs about 20 or 21 in earlier models) Has this been your experience? Thanks. Paul Creed III Posted April 22, 2021 at 04:11 PM Report Share Posted April 22, 2021 at 04:11 PM (edited) I've been able to squeak out around 33 EV miles on my 2019 where the best I could do was about 27 EV miles on my 2017. Eric Wieczorek Posted April 23, 2021 at 05:44 AM Author Report Share Posted April 23, 2021 at 05:44 AM Hi Paul Thanks for the info. What you are telling me jives with other reports. I can expect a range increase of about 5 - 6 miles. The new car has some other features mine does not like the moonroof so I'll see what the price difference will be. Thanks again. jsamp Posted April 23, 2021 at 06:03 AM Report Share Posted April 23, 2021 at 06:03 AM There were some reports early on of rather loud cooling fans behind the infotainment screen (middle screen) in the 2019s. You may want to give that a listen to compare to your 2015. Most said it was not a deal breaker, but an annoyance none the less.
Paul Creed III Posted April 23, 2021 at 11:37 AM Report Share Posted April 23, 2021 at 11:37 AM Yes, I did notice a loud fan as well when I first got my 2019 but I can't say as I have heard it lately. Of course, it's been winter for like 6 months now, lol, so maybe it's been kept cool enough or I got used to the sound.
