sjthomas1234 Posted April 7, 2013 at 10:27 PM Report Share Posted April 7, 2013 at 10:27 PM our energi stopped charging after only 1 week - I plugged in as usual friday night but the the blue disc did not light up and the battery was not charged when I started up the next morning. The charger had both green lights on so I think the car is the issue. Anyone else have this problem?
rogflash Posted April 8, 2013 at 12:19 AM Report Share Posted April 8, 2013 at 12:19 AM I'm a new owner myself (April 1), had that happen once, battery was at zero and I plugged in right after parking. To fix, I started car/shut down car, un-plugged charger, re-plugged charger, then re-hooked up charger, worked fine. (this was using the L1 ford supplied 120v charger) Hope this helps.
joeblow231 Posted April 8, 2013 at 03:11 AM Report Share Posted April 8, 2013 at 03:11 AM That happened to me once. I unplugged the Ford L1 charger and plugged it back in and then plugged back into the car and it worked fine.

apm Posted April 17, 2013 at 10:18 PM Report Share Posted April 17, 2013 at 10:18 PM This happened to me once as well... I connected the charger and went inside. A few minutes later I get a text that the car is not charging. I go to the garage and both lights on the 110v charger are solid, when one of the them should be blinking. I unplugged the car and the charger from the wall and reconnected again. It worked fine after that. Regards,APM
meyersnole Posted April 18, 2013 at 03:52 AM Report Share Posted April 18, 2013 at 03:52 AM This actually happened to me last night. I got in the car this AM and noticed on 5 miles range. 5 miles?!? Argggg! There went my avg mpg. Anyway, just plugged it in today like normal tonight and it seems like it is working just fine. What is odd is that I normally look at the web page to see how the charge is going, except last night. Oh well, going to be checking that more often for a while. Hopefully this does not happen a lot. Also using the supplied 120v charger... Calling the electrician to install that L2 charger just moved up the list.
Scooter80 Posted April 18, 2013 at 05:54 AM Report Share Posted April 18, 2013 at 05:54 AM (edited) So it appears it is likely a problem with the included charger encountering a fault of some sort. I know most of the L2s have a retry feature so they will attempt charging again automatically after encountering a fault. I guess the included charger does not have this feature. Do you guys have anything else plugged in on the circuit with the charger that may have caused a fault? murphy Posted April 18, 2013 at 10:19 AM Report Share Posted April 18, 2013 at 10:19 AM Do you guys have anything else plugged in on the circuit with the charger that may have caused a fault? There is a reason that a dedicated outlet is recommended. If there is anything else on that circuit, especially anything that contains a motor, it can cause a severe voltage sag which could cause the charger to fault. Also if your power goes off long enough for your lights to blink that will probably cause a charger fault. I'm guessing and am not about to start testing power interruptions to see what happens. Set up a notification to your cell via text on the MyFord Mobile website or app. It works really well. There are all kinds of noticiations that you can set up, including Charge Fault, to either your mobile, email or website. On the website you will find the notifications by selecting My Account on the top part of the screen and then selecting Notification Settings. If you want to get notifications via text you need to setup your phone number as well. PM me if you need help setting it up. Did not send a text. How is the AT&T cell coverage at your location? I believe that the car communicates with MyFord Mobile is via a AT&T cellular modem. I have really good AT&T coverage at my house since I'm about a 1/2 mile from their tower, but since the car is in the garage it some time takes some time for the confirmations to get back to MyFord Mobile, so I assume that the signal is greatly diminished inside the closed garage. I'm stuck in never-never land with myford mobile.I did not receive the confirmation email and they have no clue how to resend it. (yes I checked both of my spam traps).I tried to create another account using a different email address but that was rejected because my cell phone number was in the first account. They escalated it to engineering and said wait three weeks. Actually they did something right. After several days passed without the account being confirmed it was deleted.I re-created it today and this time I got the confirmation email. It would have been nice if the person that I called for help had told me that would happen. meyersnole Posted April 19, 2013 at 09:53 PM Report Share Posted April 19, 2013 at 09:53 PM My alarm system is using ATT, and the reception is just fine. I also can communicate with the car from the website, not sure why I didn't get a text. But I also have not had an issue since that one event. runnotwalk Posted June 3, 2013 at 06:22 PM Report Share Posted June 3, 2013 at 06:22 PM I have a Titanium, that had charging issues, the dealer found 50 error codes, The car just stopped in traffic and went 2 mph. "Everything is OK and safe to drive" I'm selling the car it's a POS. They refreshed the software, they "Fixed" the pins in the wiring harness, and other activities. The end of the day, the car is a dangerous vehicle that shouldn't be relied up in traffice.
dlb92 Posted August 11, 2013 at 03:38 AM Report Share Posted August 11, 2013 at 03:38 AM If you accidentally hit Value charge the car will not charge if it is not set up. That happened to me once.
jcoop513 Posted September 28, 2013 at 12:51 AM Report Share Posted September 28, 2013 at 12:51 AM This issue has happened to me probably 15 or so times in the last 6 months. I've managed to catch it a little more than half the time, but it's really irritating when I only notice it in the morning.I got back from my 6-month 5000 mile checkup today, and brought up this issue. I'm not sure if it worked, but the dealership applied the following TSB: http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/pubs/content/~WT/~MUS~LEN/3609/tsb13-09-13.htm It'll take a while to verify since it's so intermittent, but there's a bit of hope. If any of you are still having the issue, try asking your dealer about this TSB. Andre07
