Linking key fob to memory seat setting 1 or 2

I have a 2017 Energi and all I do to hold the memory is push the 1 or 2 button as you say, and when it beeps it is saved.  I've never had to use the key fob to save it.  I guess I didn't know you could set it by the 2 fobs.  I don't see how that would work.  What if both fobs are in the car?  How does it know which one to set it to?

I just read my manual (p134 in mine).  You have to hold the memory seat button longer.  It will beep once at 2 seconds, then beep again at 5 seconds.  after the SECOND beep, press the lock button on the FOB.

I didn't know about this feature.  I just programmed my wife's key and she is ecstatic.

In answer to Davidoo's question: It will default to the "first key stored".  Now I need to reprogram my wife's key as it will default to hers when we both get in the car with our FOBs.  When we both get in, I'm usually the one driving.
