Marvin Posted November 13, 2020 at 11:05 PM Report Share Posted November 13, 2020 at 11:05 PM I am having problems linking my key fobs to the memory seat 1/2 options. The manual says to hold the 1 or 2 seat memory button for 3 seconds until I hear a beep and then press the lock button on the key fob that I want to associate with the saved setting. It doesn't work. Davidoo Posted November 14, 2020 at 12:03 AM Report Share Posted November 14, 2020 at 12:03 AM I have a 2017 Energi and all I do to hold the memory is push the 1 or 2 button as you say, and when it beeps it is saved. I've never had to use the key fob to save it. I guess I didn't know you could set it by the 2 fobs. I don't see how that would work. What if both fobs are in the car? How does it know which one to set it to?
Marvin Posted November 14, 2020 at 12:16 PM Author Report Share Posted November 14, 2020 at 12:16 PM (edited) The way our Jeep Grand Cherokee works is that it detects the key fob being carried by the person who unlocks the car and recalls the memory setting linked to that key fob. Not sure how the Fusion will handle this issue. Edited November 15, 2020 at 11:47 AM by Marvin
jsamp Posted November 15, 2020 at 04:58 AM Report Share Posted November 15, 2020 at 04:58 AM (edited) I just read my manual (p134 in mine). You have to hold the memory seat button longer. It will beep once at 2 seconds, then beep again at 5 seconds. after the SECOND beep, press the lock button on the FOB. I didn't know about this feature. I just programmed my wife's key and she is ecstatic. In answer to Davidoo's question: It will default to the "first key stored". Now I need to reprogram my wife's key as it will default to hers when we both get in the car with our FOBs. When we both get in, I'm usually the one driving. Marvin Posted November 15, 2020 at 11:39 AM Author Report Share Posted November 15, 2020 at 11:39 AM Awesome, thanks! My version of the manual is missing the bit about waiting for the second beep.
