stewie316 Posted May 28, 2020 at 01:27 AM Report Share Posted May 28, 2020 at 01:27 AM (edited) So i purchased a used 2017 Ford Fusion energi in april. still under factory warranty until August. I had it delivered and spent limited time driving it. I've noticed that now, it creaks when breaking. (Heard in car and out of car). Car is currently at 29k miles. Now, i replaced the original brakes which where bone dry on lubrication and glued and had to pry off. I figured first things first since it only occurs when i press the brake and it's just before i come to a complete stop when that extra brake boost comes on. It was hard enough be trying to get it while the shutter wasn't making so much noise but it's a horrible scraping sound. Checked rotors, brake dust, nothing visibly i can see. I thought could the brake springs be scraping? But i'm now sure. Any idea's? Video 1 I'm lost at whats creaking but changing brakes made little difference. murphy Posted May 28, 2020 at 10:41 AM Report Share Posted May 28, 2020 at 10:41 AM I don't hear anything I would call creaking. What I do hear sounds like the electric power brake vacuum pump. The engine doesn't run all of the time so they can't use vacuum from the engine to operate the vacuum brake booster. After the car has been parked for a while press the brake pedal hard and see if you hear the sound of the pump starting up. jj2me
