No, I don't think its the same film but very similar. Mine is also ceramic but the percentage escapes me at the moment but it was in that same 35% range and also has infrared rejection as well.

The name of the film is Wincos, made by Lintec according to a review I just read. That review says Wincos is not ceramic based so I will have to research that tomorrow. If it ain't one thing, it's another.

Had not heard of that one before, but it looks like you made a solid choice this time. If it was installed by a qualified distributor you should also have a lifetime warranty for fade or defect and it seems to have good heat reflective properties.  I have seen it referred to as ceramic but the manufacturer does not seem to make that claim.

The film is made by Lintec and distributed by Madico but neither refers to the product as ceramic on their web sites. I even went so far as to send an email to Lintec asking the question but, as usual, there has been no reply. The film does have a lifetime warranty but I'm not sure if it's their life or mine, lol.

I will be seeing the company who installed the film on Friday because I am having the 3M Invisible Mask (bra) installed on the front bumper, hood, headlights and mirrors, so I will ask them to support their claim that the film is ceramic. Come to think of it the comment was verbal and was not on the display they had on their wall. Regardless, I am comfortable with making the decision to buy the tint.

It looks like a good tint and you paid about market for it, I bet it is of much better quality then what the dealer would have installed.

Not sure if you saw the specs, here they are: http://www.madico.com/window-film/automotive/madico-specifications/

When looking at the reviews you could find a few stating they like this one or that one better, but I really did not see anyone trashing it. Most importantly it does not seem to suffer from color fade and performs very well for heat reflection. I think were you are missing the ceramic is in the UV performance.

Remember that the tint takes time to cure, but after it does the test of a good tint is how your vision is through the tint. Is it hazy or distorted?

Also to complete the heat protection don't forget about a good front window shade.

Yes, I saw those spec and I think my tint is Wincos 70 but my paper work doesn't show the number, just the serial numbers of the film.

It has been pretty warm here the last few days and I have notice very little heat on my left arm or shoulder when the sum is shining directly on the driver side window.

One of the reviews I read spoke about the film being hazy but I see none of that. My wife has very poor eye sight and has not complained once of non being able to see out while driving or riding in the car. Distortion is certainly not a problem, so far, and the film has been on a full week now.

We went to dinner with a neighbor couple last night and I drove. When we picked them up a comment was made that they could not see where my wife was sitting in the back seat until they got right up to the window. So that is good too.

I did buy one of the window shade listed under "stuff" in one of your posts. That puppy was not cheap, so it had better be a darned good window shade.

My list is pretty similar to the OP's:

- ordered the screen protection for MFT

- planning on tint. My last two cars had 20-30-50 which I like.

- floor mats : bought the all-weather mats for $75. Not sure if this was a good call since this is my first Ford. We'll see.

- Bought the Ford Premium ESP from Flood Ford online. 7 years /100k miles.

- Probably not going to do any paint protection, just keep that baby waxed.

Supposed to pick up my Energi tomorrow or the day after, so excited!

If my car ever surfaces from the ether of Ford, I'm planning to get:

- Mud flaps

- Letting Ziebart have it for paint armor and rust proofing packages

- Ford Premium care ESP for 7 years, 60 or 75k miles.  I WAY more than got my money's worth with one when I got my Expedition.

- Hitting it with NuFinish once Ziebart is done with it for the rest of the unarmored paint

I contacted a different associate at the dealership and he took the PO sheet my associate gave me and gave it to his manager.  Manager called Ford, said they'd research it, and get back to him today, but since it's after 5pm EST, more likely tomorrow now.  It's nuts waiting 10 weeks just for a VIN when others have delivery dates this month and I've got zip.  It's making me crazy looking at the photo albums and getting more and more green with envy.  Hahahaha.

Great news on getting your car tomorrow!

I debated the protection plan but decided against it. I picked up my mud guards today and remembered that I forgot to get wheel locks, so I have to add that to my list.

I took the ESP for 7 years, 75k miles, put Tuff Coat (synthetic) on the paint and what a gloss, once a synthetic coat is on the paint I recommend using a micro fiber cloth when washing or cleaning the finish...shammy doesn't work well (sticks on the synthetic), wax is unnecessary but only use a high grade Carnauba wax if you do wax the car, I also installed the 3M Invisible Shield vinyl covering on the front bumper, headlamps, hood and mirrors (I would have done all for doors too but could not find a kit for them), mudflaps have been on order for over a week, installed UV/IR window tint, the all weather floor mats that came with the car fit nicely in the foot wells in the front and back but show the dirt easily since they are black, ordered the sun screen that meyersnole recommended.

Getting the front and rear flaps too... may have to look into the 3M invisible stuff.

10 weeks for a VIN, you're so cute... LUXURY! I'm now at 14 weeks of unscheduled, I'd kill to get a build week and a VIN.

IIRC it's order, unscheduled, scheduled week, VIN, scheduled day, window sticker, build, store in the hot sun for months, train ship, misroute, breakdown, depot delivery, truck, dealer delivery, wait for all your offers to expire, dealer prep, and then you get it...

At least I'm not letting it bother me, right?

I'm getting the wheel locks too.  Truck has them, figure may as well get them for the car too.

14 weeks unscheduled?  So you ordered sometime in very early Jan or late Dec?  Curious - what options did you order with it?  Maybe is a specific combination that is making them sit longer?  Or, it may be a case of the dealership's allocation limit?  I have no idea why yours is floating in the database somewhere... or mine.

I'm getting the Energi Titanium, oxford white, adaptive cruise, moonroof, and navigation.  Not getting driver assist or parking assist.

Will wheel locks really keep anyone from stealing the wheels? Or just slow them down?

Wheel locks are a 40 dollar option.  Honestly, if you have a determined person who really wants to take something from you, they're GOING to take it one way or another, so I'd prefer to make it as difficult and annoying as humanly possible. :)

I had my first opportunity to clean those wheels yesterday and after that experience I think I might just park the car on the curb with the wheels leaning against the hubs, just to see if I could get someone to take them, LOL.

You're silly.  I'm sure those wheels are going to give the best economy without looking really ugly like the Ford Focus wheels if you get the SFE package.

Forgot about 1 other thing I bought - a ordered a whole house surge protector that installs in my main breaker panel.  I also bought a GFCI breaker for the panel in the garage for the charging station.  Since they don't make a 240 volt surge protected outlet strip, I figure this is the next best thing to protect the car (and all of my other items) from power surges.

I have everything surge protected except the kitchen appliances... all of my computers are on UPSes... had my TV on one too after I inherited a Belkin one that a friend gave me.  Had bad batteries so I changed them, and the batteries cooked again in 1 year, so that's in the trash.  I've never had surge issues, but definitely had a lot of power outages.  The switching station 2 miles away actually caught fire about 2 years ago due to overload.  Fun stuff.

Yeah, Mr Electric offered me a whole house surge protector, when he was here installing the charger, for $600 installed. I'm still digesting that one. I already have one on everything going to my TV.

Why do you need wheel locks? Do people in NC steal wheels?

Dont need them in NC, but I visit my Dad in DC... and yes, wheel locks saved my wheels at least once that I know of there. The pulled my wheel cover off and saw I had locks and moved on (was laying in the road). Driving to work, as I turned the corner I saw a car sitting on 4 concrete blocks! Small price to pay.

Wait... what?  He wanted to charge you 600 dollars to install one of those things?  What brand service panel do you have for your main breaker box?  Most of these whole house units are 100 bucks and relatively painless to install.  My panel, a Siemens, actually has a circuit breaker that offers the surge protection.  It was just shy of 100 bucks at Home Depot, but it simply replaces 2 existing 20 amp breakers (or 15's).  They consider them 'secondary' protection.

I'm not afraid of messing with electricity for some reason (even though I've been zapped quite a few times).  So long as the power is off, it's fine.  When I bought my place, the existing panel was completely corroded and rusted out due to water getting in to it from the main service cable between the meter and the box (the outer sheath was split and was acting like a water pipe straight in to the box).  So, I got a new service cable, new breaker box, pulled the meter, and replaced all of it.  My garage had no electricity at all (was a brand new structure too), so I dug a trench and buried 6 gauge cable in conduit and ran 50 amp 240 service to a sub panel that I installed there, and then wired up everything else.  Saved huge bucks doing that.  I have more time than money, and time IS money. :)

Yes, I found Mr Electric to be proud of their work. I've looked into these guys before but never saw the benefit in my area. However, I would never tackle anything like what you just described. Especially when you're talkin' about water in the electrical box and stuff...electricity off, or no. It's how I got to be 69 years old.

Ahhh.  Well, I'm 34 now (was 30 when I did all of that work).  However, I still think 600 is crazy steep for the install of a whole house surge protector plus cost of the device.  The most expensive one at Home Depot is 249.  Still... even though it may cost 600 to get one installed... it's protecting a 1,332 dollar charger onboard the car (checked that on fordparts.com) and that's just the cost of the device.  Warranty isn't going to cover that if it gets hit with some kind of surge or lightning.  I can't find any indication on the charging stations that say they have built in surge protection or not.  So, it'll also help protect your 500 dollar 110v charger or 750 dollar 240v charger from cooking too.

All in all, I think it's 'cheap' insurance.
