chillval Posted March 18, 2013 at 10:34 PM Report Share Posted March 18, 2013 at 10:34 PM Hi all; New member here. couple of questions for the forum 1. What is the best price anybody could get so far? invoice+?; anybody was able to get costco rebate on this? 2. Do we need to pay for Ford Advertiser Assessment for $670? 3. Head lamps, it says halogen lamps? I thought all luxury cars have better lights than this? right?4. Trunk space; it says 8.2 cuft? it feels like two step ladder? How many small suitcases (airline cabin baggage)can you really fit in? Please advise. Thanks.for your time.
borland Posted March 19, 2013 at 03:20 PM Report Share Posted March 19, 2013 at 03:20 PM Don't worry about the advertiser assessment fees, they are included in dealer invoice, same for destination charges. You need to negociate around dealer invoice. You can find dealer invoice for your build at Kelly Blue Book dot com. Most dealers will show you the invoice so you can compare with KBB. Most credit unions can supply online average prices paid for new cars. The problem is the margins are so thin (difference between MSRP and dealer invoice), you won't be able to deal much off MSRP. Start with dealer invoice plus $500. So, only real deals are with significant factory incentives. There are photo of the trunk in the 'Test Drove Fusion Energiy Today' thread. Basically, you can place a bag of groceries sideways.
rprobst Posted March 19, 2013 at 05:39 PM Report Share Posted March 19, 2013 at 05:39 PM (edited) 1) Thanks to X-Plan, I am paying $105 over dealer invoice. But I had to pay $50 to qualify for X-Plan, so maybe I should say I'm paying $155 over invoice. 2) My order includes $669 for advertising assessment, $15 for "MDA assessment" and $47.88 for fuel charge. 4) Just from looking at the Energi trunk at the San Jose Auto Show, I expect it can hold 3 carry-ons, or 6-7 grocery bags. Dark Matter Posted April 24, 2013 at 02:12 AM Report Share Posted April 24, 2013 at 02:12 AM Hi Chillval, We took our first trip in the car this weekend. Trunk is tight, but you can pack more in it than you would think at first glance. Shown are three rolling carry-ons, a laptop case/briefcase, and another piece of smaller luggage. There are a couple of small things tucked in above, but not much. We hung the garment bag in the rear seat. Hope it helps. I could fit two by stacking like you did. There is no way a 3rd would have fit on the right side. Mine are surely taller (23" & 24") than your bags but they still fit in the overhead bins wheels first. Dark Matter

I haven't measured the bags, but I did take a picture so I'd remember how to put them back in on the way home!
