JayM Posted October 1, 2019 at 08:18 PM Report Share Posted October 1, 2019 at 08:18 PM Good afternoon everyone,I’m JayM, new member and owner of 2017 Fusion Energi with 58000km (36000miles)I had a headliner replaced and car rustproofed (respirated @ Krown )The next day after battery depleted and engine came on there is a VERY LOUD humming noisecoming from the vehicle as it sits around 1200-1500 rpm, such as waiting @ stop sign/red light. If I accelerate past the 1500 rpm noise disappears. No noise any other times,(Almost seems like VERY loud fan 70-80 dB). Has anyone experienced this?Just started couple of weeks ago. I rarely have engine running (43000km EV only)Thanking you in advance.JayM
K22 Posted October 3, 2019 at 05:28 PM Report Share Posted October 3, 2019 at 05:28 PM Hi Jay, the fusion has a number of fans running at any time. I'm still only getting used to them.To name a few:1. The cooled seats (if you have them) makes a fan sound2. The screen has a fan sound too (sounds like a desktop computer fan)3. There is a fan that blows air to the battery in the trunk, getting air from the vents behind rear seat head rests4. Car engine seems to make loud-ish fan sound when it's in electric mode only So what you're hearing could be any of those or more.None of them are too loud though that would make me uncomfortable. Overall it's still the quietest car I've ever owned interior-wise.
