New_Energi_Owner Posted September 20, 2019 at 10:16 PM Report Share Posted September 20, 2019 at 10:16 PM Hi, I am posting here because I couldn't find anyone with a similar concern elsewhere on the forum. I just purchased a 2019 Ford Energi Fusion, and after a few days I began noticing that after about 10 minutes of driving a fan starts to rev up behind the infotainment system. After revving a few times, it kicks on and stays on for the duration of the drive. I brought this to the mechanic's attention at Ford, but he said it was normal and just the ACM fan turning on. However, he also apparently has hearing issues, because he had to stick his head right up to the infotainment system to hear the fan, whereas family and friends I've shown it to could hear it no problem. In either case, it seems too loud to be normal, as even though it is not tremendously loud, I can still hear it over my music until about volume 10 (out of 30). The first time I noticed the revving was when I first tried to connect my Android Auto to the car. So I am basically just wondering if anyone else who has a newer Fusion or Fusion Energi also hears the fan noise behind the infotainment system. Thanks. New_Energi_Owner Posted September 23, 2019 at 10:42 PM Author Report Share Posted September 23, 2019 at 10:42 PM I'm not sure if I'm relieved to hear that. Am I being too picky or do you find it a bit too noisy as well?
Paul Creed III Posted September 24, 2019 at 12:29 PM Report Share Posted September 24, 2019 at 12:29 PM It is certainly louder than my 2017's fan (I rarely heard it) and with driving noise or at least music playing, it doesn't really bother me. K22 Posted September 25, 2019 at 09:39 PM Report Share Posted September 25, 2019 at 09:39 PM My 2019 does the exact same thing. Fan noise behind the screen. Also fan noise when using cooled seats, which actually warms up the back but cools the bum. ugh!
