Kgrover Posted September 14, 2019 at 08:00 PM Report Share Posted September 14, 2019 at 08:00 PM What's the fuel filter change interval and where is the filter located? I can't seem to find anything on it. RockAuto doesn't even list a filter for the Energi and I can't find anything in the manual for it. Someone tell me I'm not losing my mind and I'm just overlooking it. http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/vdirsnet/OwnerManual/Home/Content?bookCode=O34127&countryCode=USA&languageCode=EN&marketCode=US&viewTech=IE&chapterTitleSelected=G1526113&subTitleSelected=G1618148&topicHRef=G1618150&div=f&variantid=4041&vFilteringEnabled=False&userMarket=USA I have a 2017 Energi. zippoking Posted October 8, 2019 at 02:28 PM Report Share Posted October 8, 2019 at 02:28 PM Thought the manual says it's a lifetime filter
pianewman Posted October 28, 2019 at 06:52 PM Report Share Posted October 28, 2019 at 06:52 PM Seems like many (all?) gas engines are now running "lifetime" fuel filters. Hmm...lifetime...the car's? The owner's?I guess with modern sealed fuel systems, there just isn't enough particulate matter entering the fuel system to require a more frequent fuel filter change, hence the "lifetime" label. 16vjohn Posted December 30, 2019 at 05:34 AM Report Share Posted December 30, 2019 at 05:34 AM Yep, "lifetime" interval. The lifetime of which is when the filter becomes totally clogged and the engine stops running. Fortunately, hybrids and energi don't seem to have an issue. I'm at 131k now and intend to go to at least 200k, so I guess we'll see. Replacement of the pump/filter combo includes dropping the fuel tank, so that should be exciting. It's very important information for me. Edited February 24, 2024 at 01:21 PM by Ethan
jsamp Posted February 27, 2024 at 07:18 AM Report Share Posted February 27, 2024 at 07:18 AM Here's a link from Ford for the Energi: https://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/vdirsnet/OwnerManual/Home/Content?variantid=6212&languageCode=en&countryCode=USA&Uid=G1519031&ProcUid=G1517478&userMarket=USA&div=f&vFilteringEnabled=False&buildtype=web It only says it is "in the tank" and doesn't specify, but says it is not a replaceable part.
