cegarbage Posted May 17, 2019 at 02:04 AM Report Share Posted May 17, 2019 at 02:04 AM Hello,I took my car in for an oil change today and was told i needed a coolant flush. I ended up getting it done. From what i read online, it's needed every 30K miles or so (I have 67k). However, when i go on Ford's website and look at the maintenance schedule, i see no mention of it. How would they know if it was needed? I was left skeptical whether the service advisor was upselling me because of a few other issues that came up. Unfortunately, I know little about cars but had a bad vibe!
Russael Posted May 17, 2019 at 07:12 PM Report Share Posted May 17, 2019 at 07:12 PM I'm having it done too on Monday. Since I don't put that many miles on the car, the service interval I saw was 6 years for the first one, then 3 years afterwards. Checked my manual: ** Initial replacement at six years or 100000 miles (160000 kilometers), then every three years or 50000 miles (80000 kilometers). Timewellspent Posted May 17, 2019 at 07:25 PM Report Share Posted May 17, 2019 at 07:25 PM My dealer tried to tell me I needed spark plugs at 60K service. I don't know if he was using the regular Fusion schedule or what, but I did not replace the plugs which isn't due until 100K miles.
