rwilliams254 Posted March 8, 2019 at 08:21 PM Report Share Posted March 8, 2019 at 08:21 PM I get between 600 - 900 miles per tank. My commute to work is 22 miles and on way of that, it's ~15-17 miles of electric. I was just authorized to plug my car in at work (via a portable charger) into an outlet, which means that I'll get ~15-17 miles of electric on the way home as well. Running pure gas, I get about 40 miles a gallon. Ultimately that means I'll fill up about every 2-3 months (rough estimate). Does anyone else have this problem? Do you use Sta-Bil in your tank so the gas doesn't gum up?
murphy Posted March 8, 2019 at 10:40 PM Report Share Posted March 8, 2019 at 10:40 PM Read your owner's manual. The Energi has a pressurized gas tank. The gas can last up to 18 months before the car will force burn it down to 1/8 of a tank. The manual does recommend a stabilizer if you are going to go more than a year (I think) without adding gas. If you are adding gas every couple of months there will not be a problem. The force burn can be stopped by adding fresh gas.
jsamp Posted March 11, 2019 at 08:26 PM Report Share Posted March 11, 2019 at 08:26 PM My commute is very similar to yours. I fill up on average every other month. No worries about needing additives if you use the tank in that timeframe.
