fused2473 Posted February 9, 2019 at 03:14 PM Report Share Posted February 9, 2019 at 03:14 PM My Energi has rain sensing wipers. What do you all use for replacements for these? Thanks!
murphy Posted February 9, 2019 at 04:10 PM Report Share Posted February 9, 2019 at 04:10 PM Rain sensing has nothing to do with the wiper blades.Rain sensing is done by the rain sensor located in the assembly of electronic components in the housing behind the mirror. The part numbers for the wiper blades are in the Owner's Manual. The blades are not the same.
fused2473 Posted February 9, 2019 at 11:06 PM Author Report Share Posted February 9, 2019 at 11:06 PM Thanks. One of the aftermarket blades said not for use with a car with rain sensors. I’ll just avoid that brand.
PJFW8 Posted February 18, 2019 at 04:39 PM Report Share Posted February 18, 2019 at 04:39 PM I like the Ford oem blade. Ford also sells a more universal blade. Get the oem blade. It has a lower profile, better fit and performs well. The dealer may have to order the part, but that is just a few days at most. Use the part number from the owners manual. Not expensive. Gkinla Posted February 19, 2019 at 03:14 AM Report Share Posted February 19, 2019 at 03:14 AM My dealer, South Bay Ford, has OEM blades, in stock, that cost $19.95 installed. Every 6 months or so when I go in for service, I just have them throw on new wiper blades, and it's done. I don't have to worry about them until the next service. And these blades have the same part number. They also perform as well as more expensive, after market blades. I have rain sensing wipers and it doesn't matter what blade you put on. Like Murphy says, it's in the camera sensor behind the mirror that does the sensing.
Paul Creed III Posted February 19, 2019 at 01:14 PM Report Share Posted February 19, 2019 at 01:14 PM +1 on the OEM blades. I used to use various aftermarket blades on my vehicles over the years but none have performed as well as the OEM blades on the Energi. I just have them replaced when at the dealer for service otherwise.
muzicman61 Posted February 19, 2019 at 05:40 PM Report Share Posted February 19, 2019 at 05:40 PM I've tried a lot of blades and find the RainX blades are my favorite. But then I don't have any snow or ice to deal with in Arizona. :) baker9860
