Thought to myself, wouldn't it be cool if I could start my car with it. But from what I can tell it can't do it yet. Looks like amazon Alexa can but not google home. Any experience with this? ramsdaro Posted November 24, 2018 at 05:29 AM Author Report Share Posted November 24, 2018 at 05:29 AM Disclaimer: you probably need an android phone as an app called tasker and join are used. Also these apps cost money, like $10. So I had some free time to try and figure this out. I found a good site with 2 different ways. I ended up getting both ways to work. I prefer the second way. I use IFTTT for a lot of things already. https://www.juanmtech.com/google-home-automation-tasker-updated/One of things to note, when creating the IFTTT applet, there are other fields for the web service portion, but you can just leave as default. When creating the IFTTT you can use the google assistant say a simple phraseLet me know if you have success or need any help.
bdginmo Posted November 28, 2018 at 04:19 AM Report Share Posted November 28, 2018 at 04:19 AM That's pretty cool that you got it working. I'm hoping this gets integrated into the Google ecosystem natively though.
