RickEnergi Posted October 3, 2018 at 09:23 PM Report Share Posted October 3, 2018 at 09:23 PM New 2018 Fusion Energi. Went to setup my Value Charge times, put in zip, picked DTE (SE Michigan), and no plans listed. That's funny, the Ford video uses DTE and there are plans listed. Tried other zips including Ford World HQ, nothing. Setup my own value times. What a PITA, pulling boxes, not being able to use one box for a long period of time, etc. Setup Go Times. Setup my phone and tablet also. Within hours, Value Charge was turned off. Turned it back on. Turned off again... Been working with MyFordMobile support for a little over a week. Initial support in Philippines was a 40 minute waste if time, couldn't answer a single question. Tier 2 support called and I gave her the list of issues. They discussed me in their Weds meeting. Suggested turning off Go Times schedule. Nope, that didn't do it, Value Charge still turned itself off. Then I deleted the Go Times. Still Value Charge turned off by itself. This week after their meeting they say that they think multiple devices - phone, tablet, and PC are conflicting. We're supposed to be able to use multiple devices. Engineer should have answer (but maybe not solution) by end of week they say. They looked up my zip and tried to say I had more than one choice for electric companies (wrong, and why would that matter if DTE was in the drop box?). Other issues: Three temp options for Go Times (65, 72, 85)? Why? Go Times can be exact, but Value Charge is boxes without any times displayed, can't tell if it's 11AM or 11:30AM. Why? Can't make a box go from midnight to a specific time, only 12:30AM. So what does it do from 12 - 12:30AM? Website logs out very quickly, no box pops up asking if I still want to stay logged on. They said "it's for security reasons". Well, my mutual fund company lets me pick a time period to stay logged on, and asks at the end of that. Lots more security reasons there. Given how long this has been in existence, I am very unimpressed. They need to up their game. Is the Value Charge issue experienced by anyone else? murphy Posted October 3, 2018 at 10:02 PM Report Share Posted October 3, 2018 at 10:02 PM I live in an area where the cost of electricity is the same 24 hours a day 365 days a year. I have had my car since April 15, 2013 and have never even tried value charging since it has no meaning for me.
RickEnergi Posted October 3, 2018 at 11:21 PM Author Report Share Posted October 3, 2018 at 11:21 PM My electricity WAS one rate 24/7. When I ordered the car, I looked into rates and discovered they offered a plan that is peak from 11AM to 7PM and off peak from 7PM to 11AM and on weekends. The off peak is below the normal rate, and the peak is twice the off peak. We use very little between 11AM and 7PM. Just plugged the car in at 7:05. Waiting for the "fix" if any from MyFordMobile. The Temp options for go times is for precondition your car. So if you have go time set for 7am and temp set to 85 degrees, your car should a toasty 85 when you get in at 7am to leave or if you set 65, the ac will be cooling the car so it is 65 degrees at your go time. Note this really only works with the Level 2 EVSE. Go times are exact as it needs to know when you are going to "go". I have value charge setup to start charging at 1:00am so it is done by 7am when I leave. So I just set my own boxes (yes pain to drag around) to show higher rates until 1:00am and then higher after 7am.

Timewellspent Posted October 4, 2018 at 02:04 PM Report Share Posted October 4, 2018 at 02:04 PM Does it happen only from the app? If you turn it on in the car will it stay on?
RickEnergi Posted October 4, 2018 at 02:08 PM Author Report Share Posted October 4, 2018 at 02:08 PM I have not set anything in the car. MyFordMobile support knows that. I set it up in the web interface, because that's the only way to setup the hours. Turned on the switch to enable it. Turns itself off. They speculate that the apps are undoing the setting, but the engineer is supposed to see that in the back end by today to know for sure.
