chuck_goldey@verizon.net Posted July 19, 2018 at 05:41 PM Report Share Posted July 19, 2018 at 05:41 PM My Energi is a 2014 with about 50,000 miles on it. The other day I noticed when I went to plug it in to charge it I did not hear the audible click sound, from a relay or something, that I had heard in the past. I also noticed that I no longer see the light ring around the charging port light up in sequence. When it is charging the 1st segment does not light up. However the 2nd and 3rd do. The 4th does not. Also, when the car is done charging the lights are supposed to go out, but the 2nd & 3rd remain on. Overall, the "miles" from a full charge see to be down to between 18 and 20 miles, where this time of the year due to the warm weather I would see in past years the value at 22 miles or above. Inside the car it says 100% charged. The indicator light on the charger says it is done charging and not charging the car any more. Is a failure of the charging port on the car a known and common occurrence? I have not gone to the dealer yet, came here for advice first. murphy Posted July 19, 2018 at 06:05 PM Report Share Posted July 19, 2018 at 06:05 PM I had my light ring replaced a couple of years ago for segment 2 being out. If the 12 volt battery needs charging it happens after the HVB is done charging. The text message is sent when the HVB is done. I think the light stays on while the 12 volt battery is being charged.
