cbr954rr Posted July 5, 2018 at 12:40 AM Report Share Posted July 5, 2018 at 12:40 AM So i am now i owner of a new 2018 FFE Platinum and im very impressed by this car. BUT here in SW Ontario we have been having a heat wave of mid 90's, so needless to say im running max AC till car has cooled off. Here's my question, anyone else have one hell of a buzzing racket under the hood when AC is on full blast? I really cheapins the car with that sound. It sounds like a bad bearing or something. Really hard to describe the sound, hoping someone else has or knows what it is and if its fixable? ThxsJohn E
jasper7821 Posted July 10, 2018 at 12:13 PM Report Share Posted July 10, 2018 at 12:13 PM My car makes a loud buzzing sound when sitting in EV mode and the AC is on. I think it’s just the AC and the fan so I think it’s normal. Mines done that since day one almost 3yrs ago.

Russael Posted July 11, 2018 at 02:04 AM Report Share Posted July 11, 2018 at 02:04 AM (edited) The AC compressor makes a loud buzzing noise at full bore and the radiator fan draws in a lot of air. It quiets down substantially once the cabin reaches your set temperature. I've found the AC on the car to be superior to most other vehicles I've ridden/driven that have traditional ICE driven compressors. Because it is variable speed that isn't dependent on the ICE, it is substantially more efficient. The fiancee's Focus takes quite a while to cool down where mine takes just a couple minutes. If you want it quiet during a remote start (if it is in, say, an attached garage), there is an option called Quiet Start in your vehicle settings... well, at least it is in a 2013. Check your manual.
