Novicenovice1 Posted January 16, 2018 at 09:57 PM Report Share Posted January 16, 2018 at 09:57 PM Hello! I purchased a 2018 Energi and have a question about everyone's SECOND favorite aspect: the trunk. I noticed there's no trunk handle to assist in closing the trunk lid. Is that normal? Did Ford just forgo that minute detail in hopes of (fill in the blank)?
AlexC Posted January 18, 2018 at 05:38 AM Report Share Posted January 18, 2018 at 05:38 AM I have the 2017 Energi Platinum and I have a handle on the driver's side of the trunk. I did not have one of the 2010 Fusion, happy to see they actually included one here. Could it be that they were so cheap to include it only on the highest trim? jsamp Posted January 22, 2018 at 08:33 PM Report Share Posted January 22, 2018 at 08:33 PM After reading this thread I looked at my trunk. lo and behold there is a handle there. This has to be one of the poorest designs I have seen. It is oriented backwards. you have to reach underhanded to grab it. Works okay if the trunk lid is fully open, but if it is part way closed, you are trying to pull away from yourself to close the trunk. Very awkward. My Escape has 2 handle/pockets that face you so you can naturally reach up and pull the hatch down. That makes much more sense to me.
