sboychuck Posted December 6, 2017 at 11:25 PM Report Share Posted December 6, 2017 at 11:25 PM New to leasing and I have something I want to run past you all. MSRP is $33,370 and sale price is $32,865. Not a bunch of expensive options that we do not need. Rebates are $8,507 Down payment is $4,250. *** I know it is better to put down $0.00, but we have the money now and do not want higher monthly payments throughout the term (i.e. later). I get back $1,500 from California and $450 from SCE. So, $1,950 in rebates. Net down is $2,300. *** 15,000 miles per year for 36 month, which is fine for us. Gross Cap Cost is $33,810 and Net Cap Cost is $22,609. Money Factor is 0.2500. Residual is $12,733. So, Total Due at Signing is $12,757 which is $4,250 down and $8507 in rebates. Payment is $298.13. If I drop the mileage down to 10,500, monthly payment will be $266. Thoughts??? Thanks in advance.windowsticker.pdf
AlexC Posted December 7, 2017 at 08:22 AM Report Share Posted December 7, 2017 at 08:22 AM I think you need to get that 4250$ to zero. Your current total cost with the car in 3 years (excluding any incentives) is about 28k. If you check truecar.com (not perfect, but good guidance, the cash price for a 2018 FFE SE in SoCal is ~27500 - 28000 before taxes. I would use that as my upper negotiation limit and try to get the sale price at 27.5k. You apply the 4500$ leasing rebate to that (this is the federal incentive for the plugin car so Ford gets this money back) and you get to ~23k. If residual value is 12k then you would pay 300$ x 36 months but no money down. The car looks awesome on Burgundy Velvet with light interior! systemBuilder Posted March 1, 2018 at 06:10 AM Report Share Posted March 1, 2018 at 06:10 AM (edited) I leased a 2017 Energi SE Luxury today at Capitol Ford in San Jose.I am after 3 years of driving experience. Apparently little is changed for 2018 vs. 2017.I got the touchscreen Sync3/Nav system, which is standard on the 2018s so I essentially have a 2018 car. Csewellpxl Posted May 25, 2018 at 04:04 AM Report Share Posted May 25, 2018 at 04:04 AM Leased my 2018, but with a much higher incentive. Car had a 2k discount on the window sticker. $10,007 incentive. Had them take another 2k out of the car and ACV it towards my trade to give me $500 in equity. Put $1,400 down (total of $1900 down with trade).
