"Step 3" on the MyFordMobile site simply says "go to the car and connect"...no guidance, no directions, no message. Are there any Ford people on here? Yes, I did put in the correct VIN and such. The car came with a 2G modem and AT&T shut down their 2G service effective 12/31/2016. The upgrade is free. After setting up MFM with your VIN on the web site you go to the car and turn it on. A screen will appear on the center display with a question that you have to answer. 24 hours later the question will appear on the screen again.
