jsamp Posted October 19, 2017 at 11:03 PM Report Share Posted October 19, 2017 at 11:03 PM I happened to be on the Ford website today, and noticed that they do not list the C-Max Energi for 2018. I had not heard any announcements about this, so I was kinda surprised. Anyone else know anything? Here's a couple links showing what I'm talking about. only lists 2017 Energi for C-Max: http://www.ford.com/fuel-efficient-hybrids-evs/?s_kwcid=AL!2519!105!32599453819!s!301172556566&ef_id=Wekt1QAABOL5YJQd:20171019230221:s http://www.ford.com/fuel-efficient-hybrids-evs/?s_kwcid=AL!2519!105!32599453819!s!301172556566&ef_id=Wekt1QAABOL5YJQd:20171019225725:s
jdbob Posted October 20, 2017 at 02:07 AM Report Share Posted October 20, 2017 at 02:07 AM The only mention I saw was in a fleet preview guide. http://www.fleet.ford.com/resources/ford/general/pdf/brochures/2018/2018_CMaxEnergi.pdf
Retiredmrbill Posted October 22, 2017 at 01:19 PM Report Share Posted October 22, 2017 at 01:19 PM Maybe you are right. I saw one in the showroom when we got our FFE but it was a 17. Checked the website of the dealer and it was 17's only.
jdbob Posted October 22, 2017 at 06:57 PM Report Share Posted October 22, 2017 at 06:57 PM Maybe it will only be a fleet vehicle for 2017. Ford does sell the C-Max Energi in China, but only as a fleet vehicle.
jsamp Posted October 24, 2017 at 08:51 PM Author Report Share Posted October 24, 2017 at 08:51 PM I spoke with Jay over at Insideevs.com and he felt that this is merely an inventory situation. They are holding out on the 2018's until they reduce stock on the 2017's. This is potentially confirmed by the fact that he found a production start date for the 2018 C-max Energi of Oct 9. So it is likely they just started making them, and we'll see them listed in a few weeks. Mystery (potentially) solved. jdbob and jj2me

jsamp Posted November 10, 2017 at 10:06 PM Author Report Share Posted November 10, 2017 at 10:06 PM Thanks openair. I got a second email from Jay confirming what your link said. 2018 Production was listed but referred only to the Hybrid, not the Energi. Apparently C-Max is going away altogether after the 2018 MY (not surprising). RIP C-Max Energi
expresspotato Posted January 17, 2018 at 10:47 PM Report Share Posted January 17, 2018 at 10:47 PM It never really sold well and if ford is wondering why. Shit that is one ugly front! Why they put the sleek open mouth and then the old escape style front with the logo is beyond me :spend:
4cylinder Posted January 19, 2018 at 02:46 PM Report Share Posted January 19, 2018 at 02:46 PM Even in the Detroit area, where one can find well-preserved examples of just about any American car, including flops from Pontiac and Saturn, the C-Max is nearly non-existent on the road. Not surprised that they'd kill the model for North America. And yeah I agree that the pre-facelift model was extremely ugly. Pick one nose or the other, not both!
