Phatman Posted September 20, 2017 at 11:13 PM Report Share Posted September 20, 2017 at 11:13 PM Hey folks. I have a 2013 Energi which I have had for 4+ years, It has been working great until today it decided not to charge when plugged in. I get a text, which I set up to notify me, that said charge fault. Do you have any idea where I should start trouble shooting or do I need to bring it in? Thanks for your help. You all have been a great group to help with this vehicle. jj2me Posted September 21, 2017 at 12:19 PM Report Share Posted September 21, 2017 at 12:19 PM As a start, if you still have the Ford OEM 120V charger, scroll down here to the the table in the owner's manual and see what the lights on the charger mean. Two combinations of the lights in the table describe Fault Light On (which I'm assuming will occur when you get a charge fault). If the charger shows no fault and the charging ring flashes, you might have problems like in this thread, which will need dealer attention. Off On Off Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) Fault Detected. The convenience cord has exhausted its retry attempts. Your vehicle is not charging, or there is an internal fault in the charging equipment. Blink On Off The convenience cord detected a high temperature at the AC plug. Your vehicle is not charging. The convenience cord has exhausted its retry attempts.1 1Have the outlet checked by a qualified electrician and make sure the AC plug fits firmly into the outlet. Contact an authorized EV certified dealer if problem persists.
Phatman Posted September 21, 2017 at 01:14 PM Author Report Share Posted September 21, 2017 at 01:14 PM Thanks. I think it's the ring of death. The charger is fine. I'll read through the thread you suggested.
