My Energi Titanium showed up on Tuesday and I picked it up yesterday.  The time has finally come!

By the way, it looks like your dealer is a big one! They have a total of 8 Energi's on the Ford Invetory system with only 2 showing Dealer Ordered, which means that there 6 that are either there or on their way!

That's more than what are coming to the entire MIami area, which is only 7 and only 2 have shipped...

Hope you are enjoying your new ride!

Regards,

APM

Just refreshed the search inventory page which shows my car. First time today, and it no longer says dealer ordered!!! Yaaaay! Progress, albeit unknown progress! I might do something irrational if the dealership actually calls today!

The progress is now known! Called my salesman and it is on the rails! New Mexico currently! He thinks next week based on his previous experience tracking a vehicle like this. I didn't delve into getting more details. I don't think I could stand it if I had a way to track it's progress to the minute. This isn't much easier, but at least my Internet will thank me for less traffic.

You have got to be kidding me: "Delay- Conveyance Mechanical Failure (Union Pacific Railroad )"  Showing today on the transit report.

I remember seeing that once before... first one is the one I remember where Csx broke down, next one is where Canadian National broke down... did a search on 'conveyance mechanical' and about 10-12 threads popped up.  Not what you want to see!

I called the rail company, and it stated "no delay", it just said "arrived intermediate exchange, Nogales, AZ".

Hopefully there really isn't a "delay"

I'd imagine, even if there was a delay of that nature on the BIG railroad, that it wouldn't be long at all to solve the issue. Especially near or in where they have a switching yard in Tucson.

Yeah, i'm sure this is ok, maybe a day delay or so.  They have fast procedures for stuff like this I guess.

Hello, I got my window sticker today. The date on the bottom shows Mar 12, I thought that was the build date spot. I cant seem to locate the post, so can anyone fill me in again. Thanks

No, that's not the build date. You will now go through the same process you did with the build date as you did with the window sticker, by checking ETIS everyday during your build week: http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleSelection.do. Click the Vehicle tab, enter your VIN and click Search. Ignore the default build date until it changes to your vehicles build date, which will happen a few days after your car is built. It takes a few days for them to enter the data.

Is that ETIS link part of Ford?  Never seen that before.

Is that ETIS link part of Ford?  Never seen that before.

From what I have read it's of European origin, ie, the Mondeo, is proprietary to Ford and is designed for the world market. If you go to the Etis web page and click on the "About Etis" and it will tell you so...and more. If you click on "charges" the prices quoted are in the Euro...hence European.

From looking at the info provided I would guess that Etis will follow the service records for your car from cradle to grave and you should even be able to access recalls for it there too.

So, as of this morning my car is 30 minutes away in Seattle.  But this is a "intermediate point" and the rail goes back down south another 45 minutes of Seattle to Kent, where you have to wait for it to be unloaded and put on a carrier and head to our Dealership.

So close, yet so close!

Well hopefully they are a little quicker at the transfer and trucking than they were for mine.  Mine sat about an hour away from my house and 30 minutes from the dealer for four days before it finally came in!  Oh well, it was well worth the wait and I'm sure you'll feel the same once it is over!

I got my second window sticker today. Why would anyone need a second window sticker? Well, it's a story...

When I decided in January I was ready to order, my nearest dealer would not honor X-Plan pricing for a Fusion Energi. It took calling 3 more dealers before I found one who would, and then only for retail orders. So on February 6th I ordered the precise car I wanted -- Fusion Energi Titanium, ingot silver, moonroof, adaptive cruise, navigation, driver assist. With X-Plan, $105 over dealer invoice! On February 8th, cyberdman said it was "unscheduled clean".

But then the sales rep started to manage my expectations downwards. First he warned that I shouldn't expect the car until April. Then it was April or May, then May. Then he said May or June. I started to think that the dealer had more retail orders than they had allocations, and was trying to see how long I would wait.

And just then my nearest dealer called me and asked if I was still shopping for a Fusion Energi. Only under X-Plan, I said. Hold the phone, she said, and then came back and said the general manager had changed the policy, X-Plan was OK for Energis, and even for dealer stock.

So I found a car in their inventory with all the right options plus one extra -- parking assist -- that was already built and ready to ship. On March 1st I ordered my second Energi, also under X-Plan. On March 4th, cyberdman told me it was "awaiting shipment on ramp 54". And there it has stood. I just checked with @FordService and it is still on ramp 54 in Hermosillo.

I planned to cancel my original order as soon as I placed my second order, but when I got home I realized I didn't necessarily have to, I could just let it ride. And now the original retail order has been scheduled for production, has a window sticker posted, and the sales rep tells me it could be here by the end of April.

So there's a race on. Will the dealer-stock order get on a train and get here before the retail-order car gets built and shipped? Or will the dealer-stock car sit under the Mexican sun for a month? Stay tuned...
