What if i cancel my order? A different dealer is getting about the same veh. Any info is appreciated

I have done that before and It was not an issue. The dealer took the order anyway and sold it.  There are a few Black Energis coming to the VA/MD area (just can't have the one ending in "766" headed for MD :)). What options were you looking for? You may be able to use your order to bargain a better price.

Energi's only get pulled for building if the Dealer gave Ford your order # to be picked up in that months allocation.  If they have 4 Energi orders, and Ford gave them 2, the Dealer chooses which orders they want built.  Obviously a well run Dealer would give Retail orders first, but we all know some Dealers don't.

This "every Friday" thing doesn't make much sense to me.  Between Tuesday and Thursday is when i can see what Ford has decided to pull for build.  In fact, there is no new information on a Friday for a Dealer.

All you really need to do is ask your Dealer if your order number was given to Ford for that months allocation, and then you know for certain that it will be picked up.

I asked that first dealer when they would use one of their Energi allocations for my order, and the answer was basically no answer. Meanwhile the estimated delivery date moved from April to April-or-May to May to May-or-June. Arrrrrgh! I feel like they were keeping me hanging.

With the new dealer, I feel much more confident. The car has already been built and just needs to get shipped. And at the 2nd dealer, the GM came down to meet with me. Much better customer handling.

Now I just hope there's no delay in getting this car on the railroad.

I have been using every Friday from the understanding that allocation was Wednesday and scheduling was done Thursday. So Friday was letting the two prior business days 'stuff' to get settled as I did't know what time the activities were completed. It seems no public information was updated outside those two days so it didn't make sense to bother anyone, except Friday when you should know build dates, etc. After your car is built, then updates are outside of Ford so to speak, transit locations could change daily (or in case of one guy's Hybrid, not for 3 months).

All the above said, if you know different, I'm open.

Yeah, that's according to the dealer's estimate from my purchase date two weeks ago tomorrow though. I'm not holding much hope, but the dealer called last week and said its on the ramp whatever that ACTUALLY means for this car, lol.

But I have seen some local dealers' "dealer ordered" energis changing to regular stock on the inventory search on the ford website, so that's encouraging.

But then there's the snow storm we're getting tomorrow. 7-10 inches for 20 some miles is not ideal for driving home a new car. So I won't be too unhappy if it doesn't come in.

Well keep us posted, we'll cross our fingers. We are getting that storm "Saturn" on Wednesday. Expected 6 to 12 inches.
