$3750 incentive on the Ford Fusion Energi

They don't need to, I'm sure a huge % of the Fusion is common across the product line. You have 4 engine choices alone, so even that complicates things, I assume since Hermosillo is just assembly they have huge storage of everything it takes for all types and just like next weeks parts in advance. I'm just hoping they decide to do a couple of days of Blue Energi Ti's soon.

"Huge storage of everything it takes weeks in advance".  I wish that was the case, but its not.  As the train shows up with parts, they are taken off the train and go straight to the factory floor, zero storage.  This is called "efficient manufacturing".  However this is what is causing all the delays, making a lot of people re consider the decision to buy a Ford.  Efficiency sounds great until the supplier can't keep up with the demand and/or couldn't produce to a agreed level, then you the consumer gets screwed, because you have to wait and wait for the car you ordered.

The factory floor wont stop producing cars, so the car is built with missing parts, then sent to a storage lot until there is a surplus of parts.  However when the new parts show, they won't finish the cars in storage, the parts go straight to the factory floor to complete the cars on the line.  So there that other car sits, on a storage lot in the middle of Mexico waiting for parts that are only 300 yards away.  Until the supplier can make more parts than needed, that car in the storage lot will just sit.

The good news, is Ford is obviously aware of this problem, so they have hired several new suppliers to make the same parts, there is some lag time while they ramp up, but this is already starting to work.  For instance: if Ford's headlight manufacturer couldn't keep up with demand, Ford finds another company that can produce the same headlight and contract them.  The original supplier gets a lower order and boom, you have enough headlights for multiple suppliers.

We have 3 Fusion Hybrid's that were ordered 7 months ago and just arrived this month.  The sand in the wheels has almost turned into cement because it was sitting there so long. I was told they were missing headlights and headliners, and had to wait for parts.  All 3 were sold orders, and I already have provided those customers with different orders and they are happy.  It's tough for the consumer and the Dealer, but it's great to have a great product that a lot people want!

I just got a call and my Blue Energi Ti is being built (started yesterday).  So sounds like we'll be blue soon ;)

Bummer ...

So if I bought instead of leasing I don't get the $3751? http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/taxphevb.shtml This website doesn't say anything about a lease being required - at least not that I could see. I'm hoping we have an accountant on this forum who can provide some guidance.

I bought mine on March 29, 2013. I didn't pick it up until April 5th, but the sales person says March 29 is my official sales date. I did get the $1500 credit off the cost.

Is there a better/more clear website that tells me what credit options, if any, I might have? Thanks.

If you purchase the Energi you can claim the $3751 tax credit when you do your Federal income taxes for 2013.

If you lease the Energi, they deduct the $3751 from the vehicle lease to offset the tax credit which they will, in turn, claim and make back their reduction in cost.

Either way, the Feds are paying us $3751 to drive the Energi.

I think that is the other way, you get the Federal Tax Credit ($3751) if you bought a 2013 Ford Fusion Energi. That is the official fed site and I think it says it pretty clear (http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/taxphevb.shtml).
