Taylorjd Posted January 18, 2013 at 02:01 PM Report Share Posted January 18, 2013 at 02:01 PM Does anyone know what the $3,750 "Available Incentive Program #50164: Take new retail delivery from dealer stock by 04/01/2013" is as stated on the Price and Build pages? Are they taking about the $3,751 Fed Credit (http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/taxphevb.shtml)?
Taylorjd Posted January 18, 2013 at 02:05 PM Author Report Share Posted January 18, 2013 at 02:05 PM Oh, in case you did not know, the Energi (Titanium and SE) and Hybrid Titanium are now on the Price and Build at www.Ford.com! (X-Plan pricing is there to for those that have it).

I don't know the answer to that, but wonder why they would use the date of 4/1/2013 as what are the chances that anyone would get one by that date anyway? I was told by a dealer that many incentives can be "locked in" if you order by the incentive date. But it is strange that they would have 04/01/2013 on a Federal Tax credit and why doesn't the information window just say Fed Tax credit instead of Program #50164? Taylorjd Posted January 18, 2013 at 02:49 PM Author Report Share Posted January 18, 2013 at 02:49 PM Just got info from Ford Services. They said "It's a Red Carpet Lease customer cash program. It's available to customers who lease the car within the given time frame. Offers are subject to change and a dealer should be consulted for complete details". So I guess that covers it. Funny that it is $1 short of the Fed Credit.

Who knows that might work for me, as I'm thinking of getting one for my wife later this year since she normally drives about 20-30 miles per day around town and thus only puts about 12k per year on her Edge which is getting 16MPG, but it's an around-town SAV (Starbucks Assault Vehicle) with lots of stop-n-go around town, making the Energi sound like it might be a good fit for her. jsamp

Energized Posted January 18, 2013 at 05:41 PM Report Share Posted January 18, 2013 at 05:41 PM In the case of a Lease, the Federal Tax Credit goes to the leasing company. What is happening with the incentive program you listed, Ford is applying the Tax Credit amount to the person leasing the vehicle. In California which has an additional tax credit beyond the Federal tax credit, the state money goes directly to the person leasing (provided its a 36 month lease or longer) , not to the leasing company. So in essence it's a "pass-through" to satisfy those who don't want to shell out the big bucks to purchase, and yet wouldn't lease since they would miss out on the $3,750. DelS Posted January 18, 2013 at 05:54 PM Report Share Posted January 18, 2013 at 05:54 PM (edited) This program is what I had been looking for-- a decent lease is an automatic yes for me to buy the Fusion Energi. After being offered a $0 down, $260/month lease for a Volt, I was looking for some love from Ford. I don't expect to be able to hard negotiate down to that monthly, but there is hope. Then when there are 10 more plug-in hybrid options in 3 years, I can go shopping again, or upgrade my Fusion. Taylorjd Posted January 18, 2013 at 08:28 PM Author Report Share Posted January 18, 2013 at 08:28 PM FYI: one of the other issues I have with this being a lease program, is that when I do a build on www.ford.com, it shows the incentive as part of the purchase discount....very weird. I bet it relates to the Fed tax credit, but I and others are rechecking this!
Taylorjd Posted January 18, 2013 at 09:44 PM Author Report Share Posted January 18, 2013 at 09:44 PM OK, got it figured out, thanks to Ford Services . The "Build Your Own" feature automatically defaults to the lease price, If you click on the "calculate payment" link at the bottom right, you can switch form Leasing to Financing, then when it returns to the Build page the program 50164 vanishes. So it is for Leasing. But there is a $1,500 "Retail Customer Cash" incentive and some great financing: APR Financing0.0 % for 36 months0.0 % for 48 months0.9 % for 60 months2.9 % for 72 months

shaggy314 Posted January 23, 2013 at 09:38 PM Report Share Posted January 23, 2013 at 09:38 PM For those of us in the slow section. What is X-Plan pricing?
Mr. Fusion Posted January 23, 2013 at 10:03 PM Report Share Posted January 23, 2013 at 10:03 PM (edited) For those of us in the slow section. What is X-Plan pricing?X-plan is a "Friends and Family" discount current and retired Ford employees can hand out (Usually up to 4 per year) to give them roughly .5% under dealer cost. (Someone can correct me if I'm wrong) A/Z plan (A-plan for current employees, Z-plan for retirees) is only available to direct relatives of that employee (Mothers, fathers, siblings and children). That's about 3.5% under dealer cost. D-plan is a dealer perk that I believe is offered to Dealer employees and is $100 over A/Z Edited January 23, 2013 at 10:04 PM by Mr. Fusion
TX NRG Posted January 24, 2013 at 02:28 AM Report Share Posted January 24, 2013 at 02:28 AM X-plan is also for employees and members of Ford Partners. Check with your company if they are a partner. I was surprised mine was. If your dealer will accept X-plan for your vehicle, your set price will be about $600-$700 over invoice price without any haggling and you get current customer cash offers on top of that. There's a post linking to another on blue oval forum showing how you can get access to X-plan by joining Mustang Club of America which is a Ford Partner. $50 fee and 60 day wait period before you get an X-plan pin. He seemed a little unhappy that I would come up with something at this late date but said it would not effect him so he would ask management. You don't ask, you don't get was his motto. ChuckJThanks, ChuckJ, I just wish I had known about the Framingham dealership allowing X-Plan pricing, on the Energi, before I talked to my guy. It would have given him more leverage with his management team. I will call him this morning though, just in case he has not yet talked to them. Between 350-400 is what I expect to pay. It is a bummer that it will be so much more compared to the Volt. Mr. Fusion Posted February 19, 2013 at 12:40 AM Report Share Posted February 19, 2013 at 12:40 AM Unfortunately for the customer, Ford didn't dedicate an entire plant to a single, expensive car line, and be forced to either idle the plant for long periods of time OR offer huge incentives. When Energi demand goes down, just switch the line to I4's.

When Energi demand goes down, just switch the line to I4's. They don't need to, I'm sure a huge % of the Fusion is common across the product line. You have 4 engine choices alone, so even that complicates things, I assume since Hermosillo is just assembly they have huge storage of everything it takes for all types and just like next weeks parts in advance. I'm just hoping they decide to do a couple of days of Blue Energi Ti's soon.
