BobLindemann Posted May 24, 2017 at 10:09 PM Report Share Posted May 24, 2017 at 10:09 PM Hello, New Energi owner and wondering if anyone knows what the dozen or more red LED's are for that are set in the dash just at the base of the windshield on the drivers side. They sit flush in the dash and you can only see them in the windshield reflection. The only time I see them lit is when turning the car on.Thanks in advance! murphy Posted May 24, 2017 at 11:24 PM Report Share Posted May 24, 2017 at 11:24 PM If the car detects that you are likely to run into something they will start flashing and an annoying audible warning will be heard. In my 2013 the braking system is precharged so that when the brake pedal is depressed immediate and full braking will be available. I do not know if later years may have changed what happens in the event that a collision is detected as being imminent. It's covered in your Owner's Manual. Please read it.
