Mr. Fusion Posted February 8, 2013 at 02:39 PM Report Share Posted February 8, 2013 at 02:39 PM I would LOVE to see any proof backing the claim that Japanese do a better job with A/C. The "Japanese vs. American" is such a broad statement. So I'm to assume that a Suzuki is better than a Cadillac?
pluggedin Posted February 8, 2013 at 03:29 PM Report Share Posted February 8, 2013 at 03:29 PM Uhhh, touched a nerve I see. Okay that was a pretty broad statement so let narrow down to my own experience. I never owned anything but an American made car until I bought my first Toyota around 1990 and I have owned two. One was a Corolla and the other is a Camry that I bought in 2001. The Corolla A/C was so cold it would run you out of the car. The other car, which I still own, is a 2001 Camry in which the A/C has always been more then sufficient for our needs, even in the desert. My prior experience, primarily with GM products, was not as favorable as I recall complaining about the A/C during the years I owned them. My proof is my ass sitting in those cars and experiencing their quality and endurance for 55 years. Now, having said all of that (and I could go on) I believe that our American car makers, especially Ford, has caught up with and perhaps ever surpassed the foreign car makers in quality. I believe that strongly enough that I am willing to trust Ford and buy their car. If I am right, I am hoping this will be the last car I ever buy in my lifetime. If I am wrong, I am the loser, because it will mean I will have to buy another car before I die and I can just barely afford this one.
