Bobgigger Posted March 18, 2017 at 12:02 AM Report Share Posted March 18, 2017 at 12:02 AM (edited) Good day all, just bought the new Fusion Energi Platinum 2017. What a car, my last car was a Fusion hybrid. I'm discovering new things every day, but this morning I couldn't get it to switch to EV. The battery showed full charge, but I could access EV. It was roughly -15. Would the temperature had anything to do with that Edited March 18, 2017 at 12:05 AM by Bobgigger
murphy Posted March 18, 2017 at 10:41 AM Report Share Posted March 18, 2017 at 10:41 AM It is possible. Batteries are very inefficient at low temperatures. It doesn't hurt them, they just don't work. Mine has to get to 70 degrees F before it works normally. If you also had the heat on that would also force the engine to come on. Spring through fall I drive mostly on the battery. In the winter I can't avoid the engine.
