jj2me Posted July 5, 2017 at 03:39 PM Report Share Posted July 5, 2017 at 03:39 PM (edited) You bought a good one, because the description on Amazon says it has the feature "Automatic sleep & wake-up" and describes it further as "LX Bluetooth automatically goes to sleep when not in use, saving you the trouble of dealing with a dead car battery." So you're ok. Mine is an original ELM 327 which is on whenever plugged in, draining the battery just a tiny bit. But that's not something we FFE owners can afford with our problematic 12V batteries, so I have to unplug after use. EDIT: Another important advantage of your adapter is its security (you don't want someone hacking your car). This is from the Amazon description:"Unlike the generic ELM327 adapters, LX Bluetooth uses strong encryption and neither broadcasts its presence, nor uses an easy-to-guess PIN to protect the communication link." I'll have to spring for this one. Thanks, bdginmo, for the original recommendation Edited July 9, 2017 at 02:23 PM by jj2me
