This should give it more of an aggressive look. I'm looking at changing the rims as well. Time to rim shop. Would you know the wheel size for the 18"? Or what size rim will fit the tires and the fusion bolt pattern. I'm seeing 5x108 ET40. I know the 5 is the bolts but I'm not sure what 108 and ET40 are.. Bugzuki Posted November 29, 2017 at 10:54 PM Report Share Posted November 29, 2017 at 10:54 PM The 108 is the center to center distance between the studs in millimeters ~ 4.2519685 inches. It would be the distance between the bolts across the hole in the star pattern. We got this lug spacing because the car was designed in Europe. The Escape and Taurus got the 4.5 spacing which makes it so that more wheels fit. The focus should have the same 108 spacing so you can use those wheels. Lucky us. I am pretty sure the ET40 is the backspacing. Most likely 40mm toward the outside face of the wheel. The goal with the wheel is to get the wheel steering turn center in the center of the ground contact patch. That way the wheel turns in a perfect circle on the ground. If the wheel is too far out of in it can cause the wheel to move forward or backwards while steering. It also can cause the wheel to put more strain on the bearing as Windy stated. If I hit a big bump with weight in the trunk the wheels would scrape the fender. So I removed them and took the spacers off the front (which were smaller) and put them on the rear. The front has none now. The new rims I installed have a wider offset over factory. I forgot the spacer sizes. I'll have to look that up and gets pic. I'm out of town until next week.
