ClaveMan Posted December 11, 2016 at 02:47 AM Report Share Posted December 11, 2016 at 02:47 AM Here is a web page that is quirky but unbelievable deep in Ford information. Definitely not for customer consumption. It thinks a VIN for a 2017 FFE is for a "2002 Ford Transit" (but the other information is 100% legitimate). Observations:Enter a Ford VIN and you will be shown every detail about the vehicle includingBorn on dateManufacturing plantA listing of EVERY possible feature a Ford(?) can have. (If the VIN doesn't have it, the detail item will say something like Less Roof Rack, or Less Rear Window Wiper/Washer"."Field Actions" (Service Bulletins?) For example, the VIN I entered needs: "16E03 - POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE REPROGRAMMING"British lingo? (It's a "Saloon", not a "Sedan"), ("Tyre Pressure Indicator"), ("Odour Filter"), etc.Service SchedulesFirst Responder guides to tear into any Ford vehicle ("Safety Cards" -- sounds European).Enjoy: Welcome to FordEtis – the Online Technical Information and Services website from Ford.http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleRegSelector.do

ClaveMan Posted December 11, 2016 at 06:37 AM Author Report Share Posted December 11, 2016 at 06:37 AM This site has been common knowledge for years.Good. I always search before I post. Since you are familiar with the FordEtis you can tell us what it is, who uses it, and maybe why. It has a lot of european lingo..
murphy Posted December 11, 2016 at 11:16 AM Report Share Posted December 11, 2016 at 11:16 AM It's only gives valid information a few days after the car has been built. It is a European web site.
ClaveMan Posted December 12, 2016 at 12:47 AM Author Report Share Posted December 12, 2016 at 12:47 AM So you are saying the site information is useless after a few days. Do you know a website that will tell me more updated info for a VIN (other than CarFax which is after the car is titled I think).

The car will always be called a Transit Connect because the Fusion is not sold in Europe. jeff_h
Boston_Pilot Posted December 14, 2016 at 01:43 PM Report Share Posted December 14, 2016 at 01:43 PM (edited) My 2015 FFE comes up the very same way, as a Ford Transit. These reports are a huge PITA to read.....but you will find out EVERYTHING that could be on your car. If it says LESS (anything) than your specific vehicle could of had it, but doesn't. This works for any Ford VIN (or Lincoln)...... Cya at the charging station! *edit* I should also point out this is not entirely accurate. It doesn't show my vehicle having the driver assist package. Just shows "less" all the components that drivers assist has. In fact, I do have it......not sure why it doesn't reflect that, it's obviously a factory option.........cest la vie..... ClaveMan Posted December 14, 2016 at 11:59 PM Author Report Share Posted December 14, 2016 at 11:59 PM (edited) I used the term "secret" because Ford doesn't intend for this site to be viewed by customers (and there is no login -- mailing it extra fun). It is also a European site with lots of funny quirks for Yanks (like me) such as a Fusion is a "saloon" (British word for Sedan). The data appears to be 100 % accurate if you don't mind too much information (not intended to be read by mortals). I still haven't had anyone offer up a more informative website (where you don't have to use a Ford login). Yes. Calling a Fusion a 2002 Transit is incorrect but that's part of the quirkiness. It is predictable (every Fusion VIN I looked up was called a "2002 Transit"), but also, every VIN had a date earlier than the one on the sticker. This might be the actual day it was made? I think that's useful. I don't see anything else wrong. Please provide a website link if you have anything better! As I mention in my post right above yours......mine does not say I have Driver Assist package.....but I do.......says Imhave cooled seats......but I don't ! shaggy314 Posted December 20, 2016 at 07:17 AM Report Share Posted December 20, 2016 at 07:17 AM It might be because it is a Ford European web site and some options/parts do not correspond. Outside of that it is a cool listing of most of the options, it could be that after VIN assignment that the dealer made option changes (just a guess). It's also a way to find if there are any recall on your car (beside myfordowner.com that is).
