dnorris78 Posted November 26, 2016 at 03:43 AM Report Share Posted November 26, 2016 at 03:43 AM Does anyone know anything about the Amazon Alexa skill for the FFE that is supposed to be released by the end of 2016?
My14Energi Posted November 26, 2016 at 04:00 AM Report Share Posted November 26, 2016 at 04:00 AM (edited) It isnt specific to the FFE, it involves certain brands of wifi enabled charging stations for now. Not much more capability than MFM allows. It only pulls data from the charging station. I suppose with the new Sync 3 system it could communicate but would still need to be connected to wifi as there is no built in data connection. I know the Energi has a modem but that just provides a direct link to Ford servers. I beleive the overall goal is to one day have Sync/Alexa link services and tell Alexa from your car to turn lights on at home, etc. Technology is making mankind pretty damn lazy if you ask me. dnorris78 Posted November 26, 2016 at 04:54 AM Author Report Share Posted November 26, 2016 at 04:54 AM From what I read the Alexa skill will allow voice control functionality similar to My Ford Mobile. I.e. Start, stop, lock doors and vehicle status. I have an Amazon Echo and 2 Dots in my home and a great deal of home automation already setup. It would be nice to issue a voice command to pre-condition my FFE cabin.

thinkcooper Posted March 2, 2017 at 02:20 PM Report Share Posted March 2, 2017 at 02:20 PM (edited) Looking forward to setting up the MyFordMobile skill in Alexa once available. We have a reasonably well integrated Alexa at home with a number of Philips hue lights and a Logitech Harmony entertainment system. Getting Alexa up and running sounds cool. Edit/update: Just set-u the MyFordMobile skill in Alexa, linked the accounts and entered the PIN. Now just awaiting the last authorization step...
