decker12 Posted October 7, 2016 at 04:53 PM Report Share Posted October 7, 2016 at 04:53 PM I'm about to get my first 2015 Energi oil change (car is about 13 months old, 9k miles). I live in Northern California, so no extreme cold to worry about. I've been reading about some high ($100+) estimates for a simple oil change, never because of the $30 worth of parts, but always because of the high labor costs. I know next to nothing about how the actual hybrid engine works in my car, and to be honest have never even popped the hood on the thing. Are the high labor costs because of some difficulty in changing the oil in a hybrid engine? Can anyone give me an estimate for what they've been paying for a typical oil change for an Energi? Anything special I need to be concerned about if I bring it to the 30 minute Speedy or equivalent place to get my oil changed? Thanks! murphy Posted October 7, 2016 at 06:08 PM Report Share Posted October 7, 2016 at 06:08 PM The oil change interval on my 2013 Energi is 20,000 miles or 2 years, whichever comes first. Check with your Ford dealer. Should be $40 or less. It is not difficult to change the oil in an Energi. I have done it myself in my garage. jeff_h Posted October 7, 2016 at 07:56 PM Report Share Posted October 7, 2016 at 07:56 PM It's the same as changing on other cars, longest part is removing the cover from the bottom of the engine. I started a post on this in the hybrid forum back in 2013 when I had an FFH, I doubt much of any has changed. http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/5886-oil-change-info-for-2013-hybridenergi/ Personally I change the oil in my wife's Fusion Energi every 10k miles, may be overkill but easy to keep track of and equates to slightly less than a year between changes.
