rpreuss Posted August 16, 2016 at 08:00 PM Report Share Posted August 16, 2016 at 08:00 PM I've had my 2017 FFE for three weeks now and I love it. BUT - there is one thing that does not want to work correctly and is bugging me. I charge my FFE at night in the driveway and I do not want the Charge Port Ring's flashing blue lights on while it is charging. Well, Ford thought of that. There is the option in SYNC3 to select ON/OFF/LIMITED. Well, when I select "LIMITED" ("Illuminates only when plugged in, opening doors, or pressing the unlock button on your remote"), it continues to flash. So, I tried "OFF". It still behaves as if "ON" is selected. Since SYNC3 is new to the 2017MY, I was wondering if there is anyone else out there with this issue. The ring is functioning correctly otherwise. I get the acknowledgement when I plug in, I get the charge level when I unlock the door, and it does shut off when the charge is complete. So I am wondering if there is some possible "software bug". Has anyone else seen anything like this? It's just annoying that my car is advertising to anyone that passes by that it's charging and I don't need to attract them. Timewellspent Posted August 16, 2016 at 08:42 PM Report Share Posted August 16, 2016 at 08:42 PM "Limited" is what you would want. That should turn it off only when charging. I have a 2015, so can't test to see if it is a bug with the SYNC3.
cwstnsko Posted August 17, 2016 at 06:32 PM Report Share Posted August 17, 2016 at 06:32 PM Based on what I've read in other forums, this is a bug with Sync 3. Hopefully it will get fixed when the major update to Sync 3 comes out that adds Apple Carplay and Android auto, although since your car is a 2017, you may have those already.
