I would suggest only going PLUS ONE on the wheels rather than a full PLUS TWO*. Your ride will be a lot worse. I was going to drive the 40k on the 17"s and when I need new tires THEN get the 18" + tires. If you do get new wheels, make sure their dimensions match Ford's so you do get wheel well rub and good clearence on the regen brake system.

 

* Plus one = Wheel +1" larger and inner tire dimention is -1" so the outer wheel size is the same. If you go with losing 2" of tire height, then your ride is going to be harsh with the less tire and air supporting the car.

17" tire is 225/50 for 225 'height' and width is 50% of that

18" tire is 235/45 for 235 'height' and width is 45% of that
