cwstnsko Posted December 20, 2015 at 12:19 AM Report Share Posted December 20, 2015 at 12:19 AM Technically the mobile app works fine outside North America, as long as the car stays in the country it was intended to be used in. I suspect your question is more specifically asking that if you export a North American car to a different part of the world, how do you get MyFordMobile to work the same as it would work if the car were still in North America? The car uses a cellular data connection to communicate with MyFordMobile, specifically a 2G data connection. I'm not sure if this type of data connection is available around the world. Even if it is available, I'm not sure what process you might have to go through to get the 2G modem in the car to connect to a foreign provider. muath Posted December 21, 2015 at 03:56 PM Author Report Share Posted December 21, 2015 at 03:56 PM Yes, I bought a car from the United States and export it to Jordan And after that the application stops working, although there's 2G ,3G and 4G connection in Jordan ,i think it's due to different cellular provider. Thanks for your replay
Russael Posted December 21, 2015 at 04:12 PM Report Share Posted December 21, 2015 at 04:12 PM You're correct. MFM for North American cars only works in North America. The cellular radio is tied to AT&T as a provider, and it does not have an international roaming data plan (it does work in Canada though). You can, however, get the ESN of that data radio and AT&T DOES have international plans... but I have no idea if you can even put that ESN on your private data plan and use it. I wouldn't expect the service itself to use a whole lot of data, but I'm sure it'd get expensive. Other solution is to see if you can find a Ford dealer who may be able to replace the modem with one that works over in Jordan.
