Hardp Posted December 5, 2015 at 02:16 PM Report Share Posted December 5, 2015 at 02:16 PM Where do I find, and how do I download Apps to SYNC. I read where Apple Siri Eyes Free can be downloaded. Where/how?
Eric4539 Posted December 5, 2015 at 04:48 PM Report Share Posted December 5, 2015 at 04:48 PM Go here for a list of Apps available to download and links to device compatibility and available vehicle features. https://owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync-technology/all/sync-applink/use-voice-commands-to-control-your-smartphone-apps.html As for Apple Siri Eyes Free, it is part of the Sync 3.8 update. I am unable to update to the new version like many of us on this Forum. I am running v3.6.2 so I emailed our FordIVTteam and was added to a list of people that are unable to update to Sync 3.8 hoping for a resolution. Nothing yet..... TX NRG Posted December 6, 2015 at 02:57 AM Report Share Posted December 6, 2015 at 02:57 AM I asked to get on the 3.8 list but was told to ask the dealer to install it. My wife's C-Max Energi had 3.8 offered for her vehicle so I used her files and did the upgrade on my Fusion Energi. Our cars with MyFord Touch cannot use SYNC AppLink . "SYNC AppLink is available on select models and compatible with select smartphone platforms. SYNC AppLink is not compatible with MyFord Touch. Commands may vary by phone and SYNC AppLink software." Russael Posted December 6, 2015 at 05:42 AM Report Share Posted December 6, 2015 at 05:42 AM I did something similar... I used my girlfriend's 2012 Ford Focus Sync 3.8 update to upgrade mine. To compare, I downloaded a file offered on the Hybrid forum and compared the two... the files were identical, so they don't seem to be vehicle specific. The system probably picks and chooses what files to access to apply the update correctly and it's just a generic download.
murphy Posted December 6, 2015 at 10:55 AM Report Share Posted December 6, 2015 at 10:55 AM I also was told to go to the dealer to have it installed. That would have cost about $100. I did it myself using the posted file. Ford needs to fix their broken web site. They are advertising that all cars will be upgraded yet their broken web site makes it impossible. Hybridbear Posted December 7, 2015 at 03:21 PM Report Share Posted December 7, 2015 at 03:21 PM I also was told to go to the dealer to have it installed. That would have cost about $100.I would think that if Ford Service tells you to go to the dealer that Ford would cover it, even if you're beyond the 3/36 warranty, because it's their problem. Within the 3/36 warranty the dealer should not charge to do this.
