Hardp Posted October 12, 2015 at 08:50 PM Report Share Posted October 12, 2015 at 08:50 PM I have a 2013 FFE. My wife drove it the other day and now, when I put the car in R, the Rear Parking Assist pops up to tell me it's on. It never did that before and I can't figure out how to turn that off. (but I want RPA itself to be on.)
Hybridbear Posted October 12, 2015 at 08:58 PM Report Share Posted October 12, 2015 at 08:58 PM This has always popped up on our cars. jeff_h

Hardp Posted October 15, 2015 at 06:43 PM Author Report Share Posted October 15, 2015 at 06:43 PM OK. So yesterday morning, i put the car in reverse and it stays on my "Empower" display and it hasn't reverted to "Rear Parking Assist - On" since then. I certainly didn't change anything. Anyone have any thoughts on what's going on?
Hybridbear Posted October 15, 2015 at 07:30 PM Report Share Posted October 15, 2015 at 07:30 PM (edited) OK. So yesterday morning, i put the car in reverse and it stays on my "Empower" display and it hasn't reverted to "Rear Parking Assist - On" since then. I certainly didn't change anything. Anyone have any thoughts on what's going on?Is the rear park assist still turned on? In the Driver Assistance section of the left dash menus you can turn it on or off. There's a TSB for issues with this display in the Focus. I'm not familiar with issues with it in the Fusion. So yesterday morning, i put the car in reverse and it stays on my "Empower" display and it hasn't reverted to "Rear Parking Assist - On" since then. I certainly didn't change anything. Anyone have any thoughts on what's going on? Have you had a chance to swing past your dealer, Hardp? They'll be able to look into this further. Once you have an appointment, please let me know, along with your mileage. Meagan
Hardp Posted October 21, 2015 at 06:07 PM Author Report Share Posted October 21, 2015 at 06:07 PM I haven't been by dealer but I got a recall notice on a separate matter last night so I'll make an appointment and raise it then - and let you know. Hardp Posted October 22, 2015 at 05:53 PM Author Report Share Posted October 22, 2015 at 05:53 PM Thanks Meagan. I have an unrelated question that perhaps you can answer. I've never understood "rRegen" miles. Let's say my odometer says I've driven a total of 10,000 miles of which 7,500 are "EV" miles and 2,000 are "Regen" miles. Does that mean I've used the gasoline engine to go the remaining 500 miles? (My example is totally hypothetical but I used those numbers for purposes of this question.) Are "Regen" miles the electric motor "hybrid" miles that I generated by driving purely when in hybrid mode? Thanks. Fred

You would have put 2500 ICE miles on the vehicle in your scenairo.

Hardp Posted October 22, 2015 at 08:23 PM Author Report Share Posted October 22, 2015 at 08:23 PM So, if I have 5,000 ev miles and 2,500 regen miles, the 2,500 regen miles are miles I "restored" to the 5,000 ev miles thru breaking, etc. Is that correct? The 2000 regen miles are included in the ev miles. The ev miles in hybrid mode are supplied by regen miles and the ice turning. Fred yes, the 500 miles is gas the regen is the resistance that the car captures no matter what the mode its in. The car gets most if not all by the regen brakes system. You can get more from the system by using L instead of D. I'm sure theres a better way of saying it and just adding what the other guys have said. Page 79 (2013) Trip Summary and Lifetime Summary: • Distance - The total distance traveled, distance traveled on battery power only (EV distance) and Regen distance are displayed. Regen distance is the estimated range gained from energy recaptured through regenerative braking. I hope this helps! If you need more detail, please let me know.
