But the worst is there are heavy water spot damage under the spoiler. Only noticed it the next day after I got it. I tried to vinegar it out and wax it with spot remover but its permanently etched in. I understand its pretty hard to see it and by design water will easily pool under there. Been meaning to take it back the dealer, but have been so busy. I am not too bothered by it but since its a lease do you think they will ding me for something like this? How does a car sitting on a lot get dust/oil on top of the engine? Driving it sure, wind blows it up there. And where did the oil come from? It had 100 miles on the odo but it was delivered from a dealer that was 60 miles away.. It looked like someone left the hood open and a desert dust storm hit... the area in front of the hood seal was even worst with dirt built up in the indentations about a few mm thick.. had to fill each up with water and let it soak loosen it up. Swirled each around and vacuum it up with a wet/dry shop vac. Well its clean now so I just attach the water spot pic. Sorry for the bad quality.. The water spots under the spoiler are an easy fix (very common build up area). i usually just get a wet terry cloth and some rubbing/polishing compound and just buff it out by hand. I live where the water is super hard and it works wonders. Also, if you have scratches on the inside of depression where you open the door or some dings you can make most of it all go away with some rubbing compound. As for dealers and the "172" point inspection they do still miss a lot of things. I pulled out an in cabin air filter with 50k worth of dirt. The dust and leaf accumulation was just excessive for a certified pre-owned car. Then again it takes about 15 minutes to replace with the right tools on a good day :oD.
