Buckeyebob1963 Posted June 2, 2015 at 01:49 PM Report Share Posted June 2, 2015 at 01:49 PM New Fusion Energi owner only 250 miles on the car. When into garage yesterday to run errands. All windows were down & moonroof was OPEN. Certainly would not want that to happen if away or sitting outside in the weather??? Have NO clue??? Russael Posted June 2, 2015 at 01:58 PM Report Share Posted June 2, 2015 at 01:58 PM (edited) Pressing and holding the unlock button on your keyfob a second time in quick succession causes that to happen after unlocking your doors. I've had it happen once with my keys in my pocket, so I always orient my fob in such a way that I won't push buttons. See page 85 of your owners manual. They call it "global open/close". It's useful for rolling the windows down while walking to a car that's been sitting in the sun. It is also useful for the close feature if you should forget to close your windows and it decides to start raining. I've seen people's trunks open at work because they bump the trunk button on their fob while it's in their pocket or handbag. To disable remote opening and/or remote closing, in your instrument cluster left screen, go to Settings -> Vehicle -> Windows -> remote open or close, and turn it on or off. lonzo71 Posted June 2, 2015 at 07:32 PM Report Share Posted June 2, 2015 at 07:32 PM (edited) Had the habit of setting the alarm off because it was in my pocket...I now take the keys out and when I get in, put them in the console...which I did forget once, but the car wouldnt lock and then I remembered what I did. Even if the car didnt, I have the door combo and MFM to get me in...not to highjack or anything.... gtca Posted October 14, 2015 at 06:47 PM Report Share Posted October 14, 2015 at 06:47 PM My previous car was a 2012 Fusion lease, and the key FOB never went off as a result of being in my pocket. On my 2015 Energi, the alarm erroneously goes off 3 or 4 times a week. What the heck?
Russael Posted October 14, 2015 at 07:57 PM Report Share Posted October 14, 2015 at 07:57 PM I've set both my car alarm and my Expedition alarm off with the fobs in my pocket, usually when I sit down somewhere (couch, chair, to put my shoes on, etc). flyingcheesehead Posted October 15, 2015 at 01:25 AM Report Share Posted October 15, 2015 at 01:25 AM I haven't opened the windows by accident (this requires a 5-second hold on the button), but I set off the damn alarm ALL. THE. TIME. Not a fan of the FOB design, with the buttons kind of out there.
stevedebi Posted October 15, 2015 at 04:15 PM Report Share Posted October 15, 2015 at 04:15 PM I bought a rubber cover for my FOB. It was inexpensive and helps a lot. I'm not sure if the C-Max and FFE fobs are the same. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HVHVIUG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage
