expresspotato Posted May 7, 2015 at 12:46 AM Report Share Posted May 7, 2015 at 12:46 AM Hi, Just got my Energi today, seems like they've made things a bit more solid in the car, its a nice ride. But for some reason my large ev battery icon doesn't show any range from it. Was this the same expeirnece when you first got yours? Russael Posted May 7, 2015 at 04:03 AM Report Share Posted May 7, 2015 at 04:03 AM Sounds like your battery is discharged and is in hybrid mode. Once you charge it up overnight, it will give you a numeric range. Rexracer

expresspotato Posted May 7, 2015 at 02:27 PM Author Report Share Posted May 7, 2015 at 02:27 PM I had the 2013 FFH for 2.5 years so do know the car quite well... It wasn't in hybrid mode was in EV now mode or Auto mode, still no range on the large 3D battery. Is there a setting to show it? Was fully charged last night and still doesn't show any range on the icon.
Russael Posted May 7, 2015 at 02:49 PM Report Share Posted May 7, 2015 at 02:49 PM Ahhh. What model year did you buy? For the 2013, under Display -> [any display mode except MyView (which is extremely customizable)] -> Battery Display -> Charge Level -> should be set to Yes here. Charge Level — This indicates the State of Charge of the battery. Additionally, forEnergi vehicles the option only applies for the Hybrid Mode battery display (simplebattery graphic). The Plug-in Power Mode battery will always show the charge levelwith associated remaining EV range.
expresspotato Posted May 7, 2015 at 03:46 PM Author Report Share Posted May 7, 2015 at 03:46 PM (edited) Model year is 2015. The settings were moved like the charge indicator regen etc from pressing the right button on the display view to just in settings. Don't see a range option in there.Anyone with a 2014 or 2015 can comment? Edited May 7, 2015 at 04:10 PM by expresspotato
Russael Posted May 7, 2015 at 04:18 PM Report Share Posted May 7, 2015 at 04:18 PM There's a setting called Energy Use under Display/Trip: One of these settings should probably show you your estimated range. Page 98 of your owners manual. Energy Use (Energionly)Auto EV(EV range + energy usegauge + climate powergauge + battery gauge+ fuel gauge)EV Now(EV range + energy usegauge with budget cup+ climate power gauge+ engine enable +battery gauge + fuelgauge)EV Later(EV range + energy usegauge + climate powergauge + battery gauge+ fuel gauge)

stevedebi Posted May 7, 2015 at 04:55 PM Report Share Posted May 7, 2015 at 04:55 PM Yeah it does say it there, just annoything its not imprinted over the large battery icon :(Doesn't using the right arrow while on those left screens cause the options to come up? Maybe they are not set on your car.
expresspotato Posted May 7, 2015 at 05:20 PM Author Report Share Posted May 7, 2015 at 05:20 PM The right arrow does nothing, those settings (like I had in the 2013 FFH) for regen indicator, arrows etc are moved to the main Settings panel. FordServiceCA Posted May 7, 2015 at 06:08 PM Report Share Posted May 7, 2015 at 06:08 PM Hi, Just got my Energi today, seems like they've made things a bit more solid in the car, its a nice ride. But for some reason my large ev battery icon doesn't show any range from it. Was this the same expeirnece when you first got yours? Have you consulted this with your dealer, expresspotato? I suggest talking to them. They're in the best position to check this out and let you know what's going on. Mariel
expresspotato Posted May 7, 2015 at 06:30 PM Author Report Share Posted May 7, 2015 at 06:30 PM (edited) Thought I would check here first, maybe the 2014's / 2015's dont do it for some reason? Russael Posted May 7, 2015 at 06:55 PM Report Share Posted May 7, 2015 at 06:55 PM That's really interesting... Well, hopefully someone with a 2015 will comment and confirm if they have the same thing.
lonzo71 Posted May 7, 2015 at 07:36 PM Report Share Posted May 7, 2015 at 07:36 PM The large battery icon has the miles inside when in is enough battery, when it hits 0, the numbers go away and you just have a battery. In your image 2, I dont think I have the EV range like you do. I'll have to check, but pretty sure its not there

Seems strange to me though...On the second picture, that "bucket" for the range indicator should be blue; what you are seeing is green, which is the way it looks in Auto mode, rather than EV mode. Not that it matters for my 2014 C-Max - the range shows in the battery no matter what mode I'm in. I notice you are using metric. Maybe it works differently with that setting rather than miles? traumatic Posted May 8, 2015 at 05:30 AM Report Share Posted May 8, 2015 at 05:30 AM i noticed that you have a US model car (MPH speedo) that is set for metric mileage; it may not report km's remaining. try changing it back to imperial and see if that corrects it. I will try it too in my 2015 tomorrow morning.
jdbob Posted May 8, 2015 at 05:40 AM Report Share Posted May 8, 2015 at 05:40 AM Thought I would check here first, maybe the 2014's / 2015's dont do it for some reason? Seems strange to me though... I noticed that the yellow engine icon is lit, why? Do you have it in accessory mode instead of ready to run? If so, maybe the display is different. As far as metric, I keep my 2013 C-Max Energi in metric and the range (in km) is displayed, at least in EV Now mode.
expresspotato Posted May 8, 2015 at 12:57 PM Author Report Share Posted May 8, 2015 at 12:57 PM Yeah it was just in accessory mode to take the picture. Driving all yesterday and today and still no range displayed ontop of the battery. My guess is they took it out due to fluctuating numbers. A percentage # then would have been nice. flyingcheesehead Posted May 8, 2015 at 07:14 PM Report Share Posted May 8, 2015 at 07:14 PM I have a 2015 FFE, and I do get the mileage in the icon. I do not get the mileage on the Energy Use screen. I've also *never* seen a white fill on the icon like in your first picture. That's really weird.

The fill isn't really white its just way the picture was taken, I'll try Imperial units and see what happens... I did try it, but didn't leave it on Imperial for any amount of time. Hybridbear Posted May 9, 2015 at 09:32 PM Report Share Posted May 9, 2015 at 09:32 PM That's really odd! Could another 2015 owner post a pic of the same two screens in their car to compare?
murphy Posted May 9, 2015 at 09:57 PM Report Share Posted May 9, 2015 at 09:57 PM Does the charge screen in the center console show the battery charge level? Push the icon to the left of the gear icon at the bottom of the screen.

expresspotato Posted May 10, 2015 at 05:43 AM Author Report Share Posted May 10, 2015 at 05:43 AM Thanks for the picture Doug0716... Real strange. So I programmed a key on the MyFord Mobile app and it said something along the lines for better range prediction. Will try tomorrow morning to see if its showing.
